VS- thanks for dragging this thread over from the General Board. I know it probably doesn't fit the format of this board but I figured he'd see it here long before there. Great job reminding people!
I told my granddaughter that I was tired of getting old, so each birthday only counted 10% -- I wasn't 55 today, but 5.5.
She (all of 10) immediately asked why I was driving instead of her as that made her the oldest in the group.
I told it was because it was MY car and I had the Keys, Nyaah!
For anyone feeling their age on their birthday, I heartily recommend a visit to a Natural History Museum followed by dinner at a place like Chuck E Cheese's Pizza Parlor and Funhouse. (Farrell's Ice Cream Parlors are almost as much fun but there isn't one withon 500 miles of Las Vegas.)
Nobody can feel old when surrounded by Dinosaurs and ancient Mammals -- "Long in the tooth" loses it's imapct when yu compare smiles with Smilodon Fatalis -- or most any cat for that matter.
If you can share the day with a pair of grandchildren, (Especially if they aren't afraid to "pull granpa's chain" every once in a while -- when I suggested a museum, the 10-year-old reminded me that the Nevada State Historical Museum offers a senior discount at age 55, so we could save money by going there.)
