I just received a letter from one of my old High School Classmates. This year is the 25th reunion and they want me to write a short blurb about what I have been doing since High School.

How does one describe their life for the past 25 years in a short blurb? Hell how does one describe their life for 25 years in anything less than a couple of books?

To be sure I could condense it with a nifty little time line. I could mention how I lived in Germany from this year to that year and moved to Florida in this year. I can mention how I've been married for the past 16 years.

On the other hand how does one talk about things like doing 500+ free fall jumps? Riding a motorcycle through the Alps in the middle of winter? Being Homeless and working hard until you buy your own house? Taking three days to ski the length of a Glacier. Delivering a child. Burying what's left of what was supposed to be your wife? Hiking the length of Italy? Falling off a cliff? Pulling the wedgie out of a young womans butt with your teeth? How do you describe the thrill of finding the spouse that your going to live with for the rest of your life, and knowing it? The fear of asking that same person to marry you? How does one describe the thrill of floating in deep water, breathing and watching the fish swim around you? How do you describe the fear of being diagnosed with Cancer then finding out it was a mistake? How can you describe why you did a 200 mile ride in high heat and enjoyed every tortorous mile of it?

Then again why should I even bother? There is no one in my old High School Class I really want to keep in touch with. I was the outsider, the joke. I was the one voted most likely to be jailed. (Hell they didn't even bother putting my picture in the year book. They claimed they lost it.)

My wife told me to send them a picture of me sitting on my bike with her sitting behind me in a Bikini and telling them I'm a multi-millionare.

Go with your wifes idea :D

Your wife is right. Tell them you started a company and sold it and are now spending half of each year on the Spanish Riviera, because the French Riviera is full of petite bourgeois and you can't stand people like that.

You might post something like your post there. You'd be surprised at who looks to you for inspiration or has a great fondness for you. Even more so, you may find that you can be the spark of change for people who're needing a little encouragement to get off the dime and live their life a little more daringly.

I'd do it.

Combine your wife's ideas with this one ... use the original post, just insert a line somewhere within it along the lines of, "How can you explain the thrill of endorsing that first $50 million check when a company decides to reward you for thinking outside the box and buys your startup business..."
