Because of the local Flea infestation as well as the weather changes two of my cats are suffering. Even though we treated them quickly with the Flea Drops they got chewed on. Both of them now have Hot Spots and nearly naked tails. They are in misery from this.
Every time they stop moving they are licking their tails and rumps. They are more than uncomfortable as is shown by their behavior.
I ran down to the local Pet Store and picked up some Herbal Spray that works well to relive the itching and irritation. I mixed this with a bit of Sour Apple and started treating the cats with it.
They didn't like the spray bottle but they seem to like the relief from the spray. At first they would fight us and run. They would give us dirty looks as they tried to lick their tails, spitting each time they did so. Now though they seem to not only accept it but want it. They loaf around until the itching gets bad then come up to us and start howling. They don't stop until we grab the bottle and them and spray them down. Then they curl up and relax again after giving us a lick or a headbutt.
Now if I can just keep them off the heaters.
