Oh, The Horror!

OMG

Both of those movies scarred me for life!!

There's one more to add to this 70s horrorfest, Burnt Offerings with Karen Black.

It only exists now in a really crappy copy, but its still so creepy. That guy in the hearse with the grin gave me nightmares.

Another movie that scared me was Trilogy Of Terror. Saw that was I was like 5, was scared to death of that little creepy doll in the last story.

Oh and Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, the original. I was afraid to close my eyes at night, I was certain when I opened them that those demons would be lurking around my room.

Yes! That guy gave me nightmares when I first saw that. The final scene where the mother is in the attic freaked me out to. A great example of scaring by suspense rather than special effects and gore.

I'll have to see if I can find it online. I'm watching AHS because we always watch it every season, although I haven't watched the last two episodes of Hotel yet because I didn't really like it.

Want to watch Penny Dreadful but just haven't had time yet.

I saw Hotel made it to Netflix, and that has been our evening viewing this past week. I'm up to the Devil's night dinner party, and I love the way each serial killer is being portrayed. I'm so not sold on GaGa though...

Watched Penny Dreadful and...it was a thing. It was entertaining, I did watch it all, but I didn't love it.

That stupid guy grinning. I had so many nightmares about him!!

I still think Paranormal Activity is terrifying. I cannot watch that alone or I start hearing little hooves clip clopping in my kitchen.

Exorcist is a GREAT movie, one of my top ten, but I don't find it particularly frightening.

Agreed. The only part that ever really creeped me out was the bit with her crab walking backwards down the stairs; the rest of it, I just find oddly amusing.

It is a great movie, and yes when I was 5 and at the drive in in scared the crap out of me, but now not so much scary, but still a great movie.

The same with Rosemary's Baby. It's in my top 5 favorite movies, but now it's not scary. I have a mad crush on Ruth Gordon, and love her in this movie, and in Harold & Maude, but she is amazing in this, as is everyone I think! What an amazing cast.

Love this one too! Yeah that guy was so creepy!
Another movie with a great cast.

Did anyone watch Kolchak:The Night Stalker way back when? SO cheesy now but I still love to watch it.
It's on netflix.
When I was a kid some of the episodes of Night Gallery scared me, now I watch and they are so cheesy too, but I still love to watch them.
Anyone remember the episode of the mean girl who had no friends but she finds this monster that kind of resembled a pile of leaves? In the end she is mean to him to and lures him into a pit, at least that's how I remember it. I think she just left him there buried under a pile of rocks. I always felt so bad for him even though he scared me too.

I found Let's Scare Jessica To Death on youtube so I know what I'm watching tonight!

I was going to mention the Night Gallery! Lol. I think it was on Friday nights. Scared me to death. There was one about a spider I distinctly recall.

Ahhh the spider the guy finds in his sink, washes it down the drain and it comes back bigger every time!
So scary!

Night stalker? I loved it as a kid, then when I watched it as an adult it was so hokey..

Night Gallery was creepy

The one I recall most was the one where there was a painting of a cemetery and the guy-butler?-kills someone and every time they look at the painting its different, a new grave, then the grave is open then a figure at the door-and you hear knocking...had me peeking out from under the blankets

Course I was like six and shouldn't have been watching it, but hooray for bad parenting!

Let's scare Jessica to death is creepy as hell.

It is so hokey, but I still watch it and love it. Love whistling the theme song still.

YES! I Love that one Portifoy was the butler's name and the guy said it like a million times in the show! I think it's called The Cemetery.

YES Hooray for bad parenting!

I think we all had the same parents?

Hey, it was the 70s. . .

OMG I remember this one. I still think about it!

Twilight Zone kind of messed me up as a kid, but I'm also glad it did. I've seen every episode at least twice.

Alfred Hitchcock Presents, however, only has a few good ones. It gets really repetitive.

Another oldie but goodie was Outer Limits which was sort of a Twilight Zone rip off, but had good material

The one that got to me was the one with the bugs from Mars who had humanish faces,

Back in the 90's Showtime did an Outer Limits movie and that was the episode they did, with the creepy space bugs

Scariest double feature I saw as a twelve year old: Hammer Films, "Scars of Dracula" and "Frankenstein Must be Destroyed". Also, walking home after seeing Steven Spielberg' s first film, "Duel", saw a big old fuel tanker parked on the side of the road. Crossed over and walked past it very very fast!

:D:eek:

For Hokey fun one of my guilty pleasures is the movie "The Car" a poor man's Christine, but pre dates it, Makes me wonder if Mr King may have seen it and though hmm....

With James Brolin? I loved that one.
And Duel too is really good!

I do like the Outer Limits.
One you don't hear about much though is Thriller with Boris Karloff as the host. I wonder why it's not talked about as much as Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Outer Limits.

This sound vaguely familiar. I feel like I've seen at least one episode, but I couldn't tell you anything about it.

And now I have MJ's Thriller stuck in my head.
