Yeah I try to keep it elevated, it helps with the throbbing.

Hummmmmmm Did he cut in on glass also?

No someone skated over his hand and cut right through the glove.

Are you going to have nerve damage like he does?

Yeah there was puddles of blood... It was a bad scene... Ecch

My husband is a combat life saver in the National Guard, he got the bleeding under control QUICK! Had it wrapped up and ready to head to the ER in like 3 minutes! The only time it really started to bleed bad was when the unwrapped it at the ER to clean it out and then they stopped it oh with in 3-4 minutes. I was lucky to be in good hands!

Sorry for your friend....ewwwwww Did he go into shock?

How long do the stitches stay in?

They have to stay in 10 days. I get them out on the 4th of March...I'm saving a pain killer for that as I've never had stitches and I'm afraid that it's going to hurt....*cringe*

let me know the day before you get your stitches out. i've got a big stick you can bite down on...wait a minute what the fuck am i saying? never mind, ignore that and good luck.:D

Believe it or not when they pull the stiches out it will tickle each time just a little. I put a chainsaw into my leg years ago. Eighty stiches.

Even thought I did not lose much blood my husband told me later that I was in shock, all pale and shaking. I took a pain killer and don't really remember. I'm sure your friend was a little shockie too, I was sedate as well.

Would you believe the Tetnus shot they gave me hurt worse than the wound. I could hardly lift my arm for three days.

They gave me one too and I never felt it! It never was sore either. Actually when I went to take a bath the next day I looked down as saw the bandaid and forgot that they had even given me one. Sorry yours hurt.

Removal of stitches doesn't hurt. You feel a little tug and that is about it. Trust me...I know about stitches. I have had enough of them in my life. heh heh.

Also...if you can, before going in to have them pulled, wash your hands and let that wounded one soak a bit. It helps to soften the area and lets the stitch pull through with out a hitch.

Take care of your self in the mean time. :rose:
