I wanted something to cook inside this evening. I remembered a local store was having a sale on beef. My wife and I went down there and loaded up. Roasts and more roasts. We also picked up a couple of Top Round Steaks. Also known as London Broils around here.
One of the Top Rounds was set aside while everything else was unpacked then vacuum packed and tossed in the freezer.
This evening I started cooking. A bit of butter in the large Fry Pan and toss the meat in to sear. Several minutes on both sides then it's to the cutting board it goes. There I thin cut it across the grain. (We're talking almost paper thin cuts.)
Back into the fry pan with more butter and a couple of splashes of Szechuan Sauce. (House of Tsang.)
By the time the meat is cooked through I've also made some thick cut Sourdough Toast as well as some Elbow Macaroni. The meat goes onto the toast and the macaroni beside it. Both piles are well slathered in gravy.
Man that tasted good.
