Rick Perry once invested in company that profited from porn
Rick Perry's 1995 investment in the now-defunct Movie Gallery, which at the time was an
Alabama-based video store chain that attributed some of its profits from renting pornographic films.
"They sold family-friendly material in the front but had adult rooms in the back," said Patrick Vaughn,
general counsel with the American Family Association, a socially conservative group that
led the charge for years against Movie Gallery.
In 1995, while serving as Texas' agriculture commissioner, Perry bought between $5,000.00 and $10,000.00
worth of the company's stock, according to his financial disclosure forms.
Perry sold his entire investment the same year, campaign spokesman Mark Miner said.
"The fact is we were trying to get big institutional investors to take a look at it," Vaughn said.
"People are only talking about that $5,000 or $10,000 investment because
he has made it known that he stands for family values.
Patrick Vaughn, general counsel with
the American Family Association said,"I don't think that qualifies him to be a hypocrite."
What is the American Family Association (AFA) proud of of?
-AFA Center for Law & Policy, closed in 2007,
won an unusual victory in an anti-pornography case that required the owner of a nude bar to pay court-ordered attorneys’ fees to the CLP.
-AFA efforts caused NBC to cancel the anti-Christian show called The Book of Daniel.
-Because of the efforts by AFA supporters, the National Education Association dropped their proposal to endorse homosexual marriage.

Looking the other way when the facts are inconvenient-
Rick Perry’s investment in Movie Gallery helped to distribute films such as “Teens With Tits”, “Teen Power #4″ and “Teens Never Say No”.
- In January, AFA asked supporters to file formal complaints with the FCC against CBS and its affiliate stations for broadcasting Without A Trace
which contained an extended simulated teenage orgy scene.

Within days, 165,997 AFA online supporters had filed formal complaints with the FCC. As a result, FCC announced fines on 111 CBS stations.
