Oh Que!

Well, can't have you feeling left out. Come on over here to my corner, and you can pet me. ;)

That is an extremely tempting offer. But you have caught me at a bad time. Dinner to prepare and I am procrastinating...I need to prepare some power points and handouts for a class tomorrow afternoon.
Raincheck?

Good morning everyone or evening or afternoon or night as your case may be.

I hope everyone is having an enjoyable day. I didn't get much sleep last night but I think I will be drifting off into a peaceful slumber again soon enough. I am so excited about my new and improved ankle!!

Ciao for now!

Almost up north. I can't feel anything from the knee down and they said it would stay that way for 24 to 48 hours? In the office the PA said 6 to 13

*shrugs*

I start the pain medication regiment to nite whether I can feel it or not. Fastest in / out of surgery I have ever had! Very happy it's over

How is everyone else ?

Hey, Jezz!! Glad things went well for you. Stay ahead of the pain and keep on a schedule. Sorry, the nurse in me makes me say things like that. :D

I'm good. And glad you're over this hurdle. Did they tell you how your surgery went-- afterwards? I know, it's almost a trick question. Can you even remember very much after you came out of surgery?

Thank you Elizabeth. I have my phone set to alert every four hours so I should be okay!

I can remember everything he said. He was very pleased. I even had enough tell don't left to reattach so no stealing from another area to patch that one up. As far as the difficult part went where the second surgeon was present, he was super excited about it. That made me super excited toi

I'm super excited for you. How are you feeling now? (how many fingers am I holding up?)

I have not slept at all today. It's weird. I feel great and have not started the pills yet. I feel nothing from the knee down and cannot even wiggle my toes. That I hate but they say it's normal.

Do you get physical therapy? How long before you can do things? (Not very specific... ride a bike. Walk.) Sleep's going to hit you eventually. Pow! Flop! Unless you have a very different body than me.

So glad it went well! :)

I'm doing good, but procrastinating like crazy. I'm going on a little road trip Thursday, and I should have more of my stuff together by now. Procrastination has been more fun.

I am not much of a sleeper but I have had a wicked headache all day and right now I can literally hear the my heart beat in my head. Yes I know it makes no sense to me either but it's been getting stronger all the time.

No weight bearing for two weeks at that point they will take the soft cast off and put a hard cast on and then gradually walking. One month out I will start physical therapy

The heart beat in the head does make sense; I've had that happen from time to time.

Well, I did manage to start getting some things in a suitcase, so a little progress has been made. I'm already a bit excited, so I hope it'll turn out to be lots of fun. :)

Just adding my congratulations Jezz...and like a good hospital visitor, here are some flowers...and a  on the cheek.

:rose::rose::rose::rose::rose::rose::rose: ( I had more flowers to give but I pulled out a few to give to a young guy visiting his wife.)

Sorry, I ate the chocolates on the way over. They were delicious by the way.

The whoosh whoosh whoosh is gone! YAY! Head does not hurt anymore either....I want details on your upcoming trip Calli. Can I live vicariously through you for a while?

So sweet Michael! Thank you for eating the chocolate too. I don't care much for chocolate!

Still cannot feel the foot but I did sleep for a couple hours.

When I was a young teen I had surgery on an ingrown toenail on each big toe; both at once. It was fun watching the surgeon cut and feel only a slight scrape. Then the local wore off, as I accompanied my Dad in the car on our way to the beach where we were staying for summer holidays. I cannot describe the pain from the vibrations I could feel through the floor of the car as they affected my toes. And of course, hobbling round on my heels in sand was not much fun. And I could only swim with plastic bags on my feet! lol

Something I will never forget.

Well that sounds like torture~ I am sooo glad I was numb for my trip! Still cannot wiggle my toes which is a hugely irritating problem, but I know it is absolutely normal til the nerve block wears off.

what? the surgery, the trip in the car? Or the hobbling round on my heels. trying to keep the sand out of my bandages? Or all of the above?

Glad you are feeling gpod so far. Found that corner of the bunker with a signal. Missed my flight by 2 minutes monday. Had to take the long way via san fransico. 4.5 hours in the air instead of 2.5. Dr Quebro and I are looking at the RV harage basically full. Mom did not really pare down. I drove the niggest rental they male through the hills and the woods then up the coast. This looks to me like it's going to take two loads and I can't see being on the road for 50 hours to drive to loads full of stuff that needs to be pared down.

We are already tired just from shuffling boxes around and we haven't even begun to load yet.

All of the above~ I was only awake while they did the nerve block and even then they had already pushed to meds in, one for pain and one kinda like valium only different, he said it can make you forget but I remember both of the shots they injected guided under ultra sound. It was fascinating.

I was wondering if you would make an appearance during your trip! I am sorry to hear you had to go the long way. I suppose mom is just not ready to let go of some things? It can be very hard to do so for some people.

That sounds stressful and miserable. Sorry that's what you're dealing with right now.

Yes, ma'am. I'm going down to Georgia lookin' for a soul to steal... I mean, to meet a friend. I've known him for over 15 years, and it's a bit ridiculous that we haven't been face-to-face, so I'm making it happen. No real plans while I'm there besides hanging out, but we might decide on something touristy if the mood strikes. It's just for the weekend, so I'm heading back home on Monday.

Oh Calli that sounds divine! I am excited for you~ Every person who I have met online has been a wonderful experience, whether they were friends, lovers or we lived together for seven years... I wish you safe journeys and much excitement and happiness.
