Dagnabit!

I drove up to the Hinterlands a third of the way to Vegas because assignments in pay better, and I could see that no one was already covering there.

The way it works is you have to be physically present in that area to be given priority of assignment to that area. So, almost an hour ago I got here and set up shop in the middle of the desert.

The better assignments tend to come down from Mount Olympus at the top of the hour. This area It's Not Unusual for you to have to wait an hour for such a plum.

Great. Now I've got the soundtrack for the Carlton dance playing in my head.

This antiquated system has its quirks one of which is from time to time it forgets that you're out there waiting to hear from Mount Olympus so it doesn't hurt to refresh from time to time.

When nothing comes at the top of the hour, sometimes there is a little hiccup and they kick out at 10 past so to be on the safe side, I refreshed...only to find out that I never requested any assignment anywhere, much less podunkville, where I currently am.

So now that I have made the proper request I find that someone else has beat me to the area so I am in the second position in line.

Well, I was helping my cousin move his shop from one unti to another yesterday. Aside from a wardrobe malfunction and breaking the lower thumb knuckle, it went reaasonably well.
