I'm in Boston, don't ask me how it happened, it just did. You know, there are several differences here, the least being the size of the restrooms. I guess hygiene wasn't a concern 300 years ago when most of these houses were built, but damn, the whole restroom, including the shower is smaller than most coat closets down south.

At least they have the internet, I can at least shout out. Hey to every one here tonight.

Nitelight, WHAT THE FUCK DOES SHOES HAVE TO DO WITH THIS NONSENCE Y'ALL CALL DRIVING? I've tried it both ways!

At least up North they're indoors.

I don't mind the coat clostets being inside, although it took a little getting used to, it's the bathrooms that have me in a tizzy. Can you say tuna can? No, tuna can's are bigger.

Oh you poor thing! What did you DO? How long before you are eligable for parole? Or should I start baking a cake with a hack saw in it?

Boston is only bad this time of year sweetie. Go in the summer there is baseball and the cape is beautiful!!!

Get back to GA have some grits and y'all will be fine.

Maybe I need more than one trip to Boston to appreciate it too then? When I went (I'm guessing on my approximate age) I was in Jr. high. The tollways/freeways were a mess. If you gave eye contact with another driver, it was like your submittance to them allowing them the right away. The tollbooths were maybe 7 langs long, and shortly past that, the highway turned into maybe only 3 langs. ~sigh~

Then, on a walking self-tour (the "tourguide" being a map you bought), we ended out witnessing a bum taking a shit right along the center of an underpass. ~sigh~ That was very disgusting! We did, however, end out seeing the grave sites of Paul Revere(sp?) and Mary "Mother" Goose. :)

*waving* Hi Ambrosious.....hmmmmmm... a fella concerned about the size of the restroom...didn't know the guys needed the space to primp and preen like the ladies *grin*

Lived outside of Boston in Needham Heights from March to September of 1968. Took that long to get the money together to get out.

Have been back several times since. Love the history around the place. And the night life beats hell out of downtown Owego. (sorry Ksss)

However it isn't the same since they civilized the combat zone. No more nude go-go dancers in second floor windows *sigh*

How long are you in for. We can mobilize the lit swat team, an' bust ya out. Dem yanks kan't keep one of our's fer long. Do we need to send ya rations of Grits 'n fat back? Jest say de word 'n der on da way.

I had the same experience in Connecticutt (sp)

New England to me has a built two hundred years ago and staying that way attitude to it. The first thing I noticed was all the "George Washington slept here" signs. And he did too, in my bed, I''l bet. The first night I was there I got a room in a very old three story "hotel". It was suposed to be the best in town!! The mini bathroom was, yes, tiny to the point that you couldn't turn around if you shut the door. And it was out in the hall!!!

The bed sank in so much when I lay down I thought I was in a recliner and it made noises every time I twitched. The floor groaned when I walked on it ( I was skinny then, I was) and the only heat was from a radiator that only worked if the outside tempature was below freezing!!

Yes the Boston freeways were sheer terror and eveyonetalkedwaytofast!!!

BUT the leaves sure were pretty in the fall as were the girls even if they needed tans.
Darn the only intro line I knew, having grown up in Arizona was "Can I see your tan lines."
I learned not to ask "How long has your family been here?" unless I wanted a two hour conversation.
The line that finially worked for me cost several thousand dollars. Wanna drive my Triumph Spitifire?" And it being the era of short skirts I ALWAYS opened the door for her.
I still have lots of pics of the girls and leaves but I don't miss the snow.
Nice place to visit and the people are real nice once you get to know them but I like Dallas now.

You poor mistreated soul. I live only minutes from the Mason-Dixon line and I get severely homesick at times. Can't even imagine having to stay in Boston.

If I remember corectly, it is sort of like a roach motel for people.
