Oh, Laurel... chance to make some big bucks?

just remember....

make sure you wash ALL of it off....

walked funny for two days, i did...

Ouch. Yes, I learned the first time I used it to make sure none is left on too long, or left behind. Used properly though, it is a great product. Too many people on the board can't seem to buy it in their area of the world, so what better source for it than Lit?

Excellent idea for a product for lit.

When I bought mine...there was only one left... and they Walmart said they only stock it once every few months

:(

LOL! Cheyenne, you lil enterpreneur you... ;) That stuff's awesome. I'm prone to shaving rash, but Magic never irritates...so long as you rinse it off on time, like MinkSoul said..

Okay, so I just bought some Magic lotion, and before I go experimenting, I need to know, what IS the right amount of time to leave it on? You people are scaring me with your horror stories of leaving it on too long.

Follow the package directions. I think it gives you a time range, though I'm not sure. At the lower end of the range, scratch a little off with the spatula or whatever you're using and see if the hair comes off cleanly. If it doesn't, leave it on longer. If it does, go ahead and remove the rest. You may want to do a test patch before you start: mix it up, then apply to a little spot. Leave on for a bit, then rinse off. Watch the spot for 24 hours. If you don't have any weird reactions (swelling, hives, etc.) you should be fine.

The package says 6-9 minutes. I'm worried because no previous depilatory creams have worked for me, even far past the upper time limit. I'm afraid that I will put Magic on, the hair won't come off at the right time, and then I will leave it on too long to overcompensate.

I'm just a bundle of anxieties tonight. Everyone please ignore me, my life has gone into minor tumult and it's making me a nerd.

sorry. thought I was my neighbor's St. Bernard for a second...

But Laurel, what about the idea? Are you going to figure out how to add it to the Lit product line?

Pyper- I time it 6 minutes from when I smooth on the last bit of the lotion. I figure it takes me about 3 minutes to put it on, using a hand held mirror in my left hand and working with my right hand. I scrape all the lotion off (GENTLE!) with the spatula and don't worry if I don't get all the hair. Then I use a washcloth in the shower to LIGHTLY rub the rest of it off. Just don't let yourself knowingly keep it on too long. You can always try again to get remaining hair in 36 hours. Missed hair is a temporary condition, easily fixed. Burned skin is worse. And do the patch test, just in case.

Thanks, Cheyenne. I knew I could count on you for good Magic advice!

Blushing. I know, I know. I owe ya a pic. It's nice, mostly. I haven't tried it close in, you know, but for the outer parts it is nice. Smell takes some getting use to, and since I am blind as a bat without my glasses, I have lost a bit more hair then intended.

Well Merelan you know me, I'm willing to volunteer to help you with the task!! And I see pretty well without glasses as well!! ;)

And Laurel if it does go on the lit production line... there is a certain guy in Australia willing to at least test the product.

I think that's a great idea! (I bought some, tried it once and it didn't work AT ALL, but so many of you are thrilled with it.)

It might be a hard sell to the company, though. It is, after all, a beard remover formulated for black men, and it specifically says "For facial hair removal only!"
