I have Faith After All

I have not the faith of a christian.
God damn me for having no faith in you, I will forgive you for I am a good person without faith in you.

I believe in what I can see and hear and especially in what I can touch.

I have faith in the ones I love.
I have faith in my friends and most of all in myself.

I have faith in my son, that he will one day call my name out,
Daddy.

Though he says it not,
I know I have faith, faith in my son that he loves me.

some thoughts

I do not have the faith of the christian.
I have faith in the sun pouring through the window
on an unmade bed.

I have faith in my son's gurgling sounds,
faith that he means
'Daddy, I love you.'

I have faith in the smell of boiling cabbage
and my wife's hair in the comb.
I have faith in the dreams of my ancestors.

I am that dream.
