I'm sure that I'm not the only person who reads Lit postings while idly playing the guitar. So, to those of you who finger your gitbox at Lit, what's your favorite guitar that you actually own? And, what is your fantasy ax that you hope to own one day?

Of my acoustic guitars, my Guild D-55 is my favorite
I only have one electric guitar that's worth mentioning, and it's a Fender Tele w/ a natural finish.

As to my fantasy guitars:

acoustic: 1940 (pre WWII) Martin D-45

Electric: Original D'Angelico New Yorker

My Fender strat gets the most work.

Though I'd fellate a drunk llama for a yellow Telecaster. One day, it will be mine (the Telecaster, not the llama).

I had a Spinal Tap David St Hubbins-esque white SG I foolishly sold.

Damn that thing was loud, and the sustain went on forever.

There, listen, you can still hear it.

I love my Telecaster. I've recently seen a paisley Tele that's caught my fancy. Eventually I will own a strat. By brother has a couple of them .. and I'm working on trying to get him to part with the Buddy Guy model (Black w/ white polka-dots)

Acoustic, that I own...Ibanez in black on black

Electric...Hohner...spider. Looks like a bolt of red lightning with a spider web on it. Just got it rebuilt.

Want to owns.

Acoustic...National nickel with the palm trees engraved on it.

Electric...Gibson X-plorer

or

Gibson Les Paul Standard

or

Jackson RR-3

The old ones with the grip/hole in them?

I have a few....a cheap Epiphone, a Schecter, and a Gibson LP...but i dream of an Ibanez Jem.

Epiphones aren't exactly cheap! There's an epiphone John Lennon Casino that I like, but I can't justify the $2000.00 price tag -- unless I sell a couple of my acoustics.

Hey, back in the day, with the tree of life inlay and that hole, that thing was smoking. It still is really -- even if it does scream 1980's hair band shredder.

I've just always found flowing tremelos to be a pain in the ass.. I just unloaded a Jackson flying V guitar on Ebay because of tuning problems with those things.

I always toss a block behind a tremelo anyways...and I think the one on a $2000 guitar should be pretty stable anyways.

My Jackson KV2 cost a little more than half that much, and the darn thing had an original non-locking Floyd Rose -- which is why I unloaded it on some kid from Wisconsin. I'm not a big whammy bar dive-bomber to begin with.

I never use a whammy bar...why? I can generally bend a note about 2 1/2 steps anyways.

Exactly. I have a pretty good tremelo in my left hand! And since I'm used to bending .013 -.057 strings on my acoustics, bending electric strings is a piece of cake -- they practically bend themselves.

I use stings almost that big on electrics...whenever I play anyone else's, I bend them right out of tune!

I have 2 guitars

I have 2 gutiars that are my favorites

1.) my Gibson humming bird Circa....1971

2.) My 12 string Aria humming bird Circa....1973

My fav was always fondly called "Frankencaster" a 56 Strat body with all original electrics-

with a 55 Tele neck with original machines mounted on it.

I have really big hands so the blockier tele neck is good for me,

and the sound is orgasmic.

As for acoustics- Martin D-45 with mother of pearl inlays in the neck, bought on Union stree in SF in 1976...next to a joint with the best Daquiris on the planet...

Have a 1939 Rickenbacker lap steel somehwere in the bay area, its stayin with my old runnin mate, nexttime im out west Im claimin that bad boy-

ah guitars and women- old new vintage cheap fixed broken in tune or out-nothing better to spend your day playin with

;)

I have a beat up old 70s Les Paul I love to shred with, and a 60s Rickenbacker that I should take better care of.

I'd like to have a Strat, a 335 or a Jumbo acoustic.

I'd like to have this guitar, but I don't think Yoko is giving it up for cheap:
