sure i can google but cannot be arsed... this is a thread for those off-the cuff questions that pop-up from nowhere, all questions and nature of replies expected

first off:

can fish taste? apparently chubb adore blackberries

which law of life determines time v resources? seems when i have plenty to burn, i'm too busy working or it's too wet to make a bonfire and i have to wait weeks.

I had a bonfire in the rain yesterday. I just started it with good dry stuff and fed it slowly with the wet stuff once it was established.

( clearing up the mess is going to be a pita though)
hello, elle xx

oh, i could burn it that way easily, and never need more than a match or two to light a fire (been doing them for more than 30 years), but since i live in such close proximity to neighbours then i have to think about the amount of smoke it creates. In milder weather a lot of people still have their windows opened and though i'll let a few neighbours either side know i'm lighting a fire i'm not about to trek right round the blockk. :) I start and feed a fire just as you describe, as the heat cuts back on the smoke of the damp stuff; it's as much a case of me not fancying standing out in the rain or thinking 'i'll wait for a spot of drier weather 'cos smoke' than anything else. I love to stand out there with it, a few times a year, making a night of it :)

Oddball Question

Can you direct me to the thread where you cried alligator tears over the hurricane in Haiti?

does the eating of artichoke hearts warrant the effort involved in their prep?

This thread seems like an inside joke that I don't get. My oddball question is WTF?

no, lol. just a thread to stick up any odd little question that crosses your mind - answers are likely to be as odd as the questions, not necessarily on-track, but sometimes enlightening!

so, do you know if fish can taste?

p.s, no idea what the gumpster posts; i have no interest in the waste of space.

Of course fish can taste. It's how they find food they like.
well chubb love blackberries. they have good taste :)

didn't know how much feeding was triggered by movement causing the reaction to strike and how much is a case of taste buds. i'm glad they can enjoy their food!

Why is there air?

NOTE: The question isn't HOW (what's the physical explanation) but WHY (what's the motivation). WHY is always about motivation and drive. What motivates air?
