Once upon a time you couldn't find any videos of sex between a man and a woman on the web in which the woman was bound. I'm not talking about heavy S&M and torture, but plain old oral or missionary with, say, her hands tied. You could find lesbian bondage sex, or even mild lesbian S&M with women spanking or whipping their bound partner, but nothing hetero, at least, not when the site-owner was subject to US law and restrictions.
The rationale for the proscription, or at least the one I'd always heard (and I like to keep track of such things) was that showing the woman bound or tied up during sex implied she was being forced, and force implied non-consent or rape. So showing such material could be seen as condoning or advocating rape, and that was one of the few things (along with underage sex) that would bring down the wrath of the feds and other web watchdogs.
Then, about a year or year-and-a-half ago, the ban seemed to be easing. A few sites started posting bound sex videos, and then the lid came off and they were all over the place. One of the things that seemed to change was the addition of a little trailer to each clip in which the actors sit out of character and briefly discuss the clip, with the woman invariably saying how much fun she'd had making it. Apparently, that little disclaimer was all it took to satisfy the watchdogs and lift the ban.
Bound sex is a rather specialized taste so I don't expect many people to get all excited about this, but the rationale behind censorship and obscenity laws affects us all. I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything more about this sudden relaxation or what was really behind it.
