All OK after Obama’s plane clips another on runway

January 12, 2008
FROM STNG WIRE REPORTS

After a red-eye flight from Las Vegas back to Chicago, a plane carrying Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama clipped the wing of a parked plane at Midway Airport Saturday morning. None of the 12 people on board were injured.

A Gulfstream II jet carrying U.S. Senator Obama arrived at Midway Airport from Las Vegas about 2:30 a.m., and landed without incident before the minor crash, according to City Department of Aviation spokesman Gregg Cunningham.

The plane was approaching its parking area when its left wing clipped the right wing of a parked, unoccupied small plane, Cunningham said. The plane was carrying 12 people, including crew.

The wing tips of both planes sustained minor damage, and nobody was injured in the incident, Cunningham said.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident.

I'm more worried that he (and his opponents, plus a couple on the other side too) would knock an engine or two off the jumbo jet that's been the U.S. economy the last five years.

I just spit beer all over Magi. He's giving me a rather dirty look as he cleans himself up and is wondering why I'm laughing. (I'm going to send this picture to my father, I can only hope he isn't drinking a beer when he opens it.)

Oh shush, no metahors in my thread.

And without it, your politickin' is off-topic. So there. :p

Honestly. I live in a poor rural state. This boom you speak of is a complete fantasy here. It may have made some billionaires richer, but we are NOT prospering. Five years? Fantasy, complete fantasy.

U were just pissed I omitted an 'L' from my ignored American Dreamz rant...chuckles...sorry Liar...slipped me mind...

I'll save full rebuttal for another thread - I've already jacked Liar's airplane thread. Will just say that I don't think you're right about the broader picture (can't comment on the specific state) and have some evidence from a surprising source on that, but I do see things to be concerned about.
