Obamacare In Action.

Just another 'unintended consequence' of the Obamacare legislation.

Didn't anybody read that damn thing through before it was passed besides a few Repubs...and I bet there were a bunch of revisions on the House floor after they read it. ;)

It is definitely FUBAR but, in 2013, it will probably be repealed in its entirety.

One can hope. Some provisions in the bill are well intentioned and in some cases necessary, however program compliance regulations are unecessarily complex.

It's the IRS as your health care provider.

The problem is, SOMETHING needs to happen. There are too many people with major medical problems that can't even get health insurance in the first place (if they can even pay for the insurance, which is sometimes more than the cost of the care!).

So, something has to happen. Even if this isn't the thing (and, frankly, I'm not sure it is), if it opens the options up to get the right stuff in place, then it's worth something.

My husband is one of those that has no insurance and can't get it. And there are a LOT of doctors that won't see him without insurance.

So...

No, the problem is people who say "SOMETHING needs to happen...." and mistakenly think that ANYTHING will be an improvement. Sadly, they are generally mistaken. It is much easier (and more likely) to make things worse than it is to make them better.

I agree with CARNE; what he says is true. 'Progress" and 'improvement' are much like the search for prime numbers. The other thing is: In a democracy resources are distributed KATRINA LOOTER Style.

I dont see the GOP repealing it. In court Obama defends the law as a tax. I always knew it was a tax, even when Obama swore it wasnt a tax. But the GOP is gonna need the money, and they wont repeal it cuz it creates a surplus they can spend.

Maybe some kind of assigned risk pool can be established, as in auto insurance. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Assigned+Risk

Sad, but true. The Dems and GOP are two sides of a plugged nickel. Success in DC is measured by how much you can spend of other peoples money while feathering your own nest.

I just read a memoir by David Gergan, and he pretty much confirms my suspicion of both parties. Rolling Presidents and taxpayers is the pols favorite activity. The best Presidents kill a few of them at the start, and things go much better.

JBJ, it can't be a tax. Don't you remember, Obama PROMISED that he wouldn't raise taxes, or create new taxes, on anyone who made less than $250,000 per year? Besides, more medical care is desperately needed. The widow down the street, who lives on Social Security, is hallicinating that her Medicare tax went up when Obama PROMISED that he wouldn't raise taxes, or create new taxes, on anyone who made less than $250,000 per year. What we need to do is get the federal attorneys, who think that the health care bill is a tax, into psychiatric care, so that they won't hallucinate that the Obama health care program is finanacved by a tax. RICHARD

I feel your pain!

The damned government in 2009 gave $110 BILLION to dead people and convicts running scams on their prison PCs!

I do believe that if we made a serious effort to cut the BS we wouldnt need tax increases.

I am not a working person, because I retired some time ago, but I believe my taxes are higher this year than they were last year. I got a substantial refund from the IRS after filing my 2009 tax return, but I am paying a higher percentage of withholding this year. Either my taxes have been raised or I am being forced to loan the gov. money at zero interest. I will not know which until I see my 2010 tax return instructions and compare the rates with those from last year. :(

BTW, the income of my wife and me is much less than 250,000 per year.
