There was no GW "mess." The world media started slandering that poor man before he took the oath of office. It was the first time the media perfected the practice of character destruction to such an extent.

Why President Bush was (supposedly) so unpopular in some foreign countries is an interesting subject. Whole books could be written on it. It did vary from country to country, however. There is no such thing as "world opinion" and certainly no such thing as "world opinion" vs. "US opinion." The US is as much a part of the world as any other country. Countries such as Russia, China, Israel, UK, Germany, Canada, Honduras, Pakistan, Malawi, fill in any country's name, differ as much between each other as they do with the US. There is no "US" vs. "the world." There is jealously around the world over US economic success, and what's perceived to be US cultural influence.

As to the original point, it shows that both major parties are globalist, interventionist parties. This is what Pat Buchanan and others have been saying for the last 30 years.
