OBAMA HAS BECOME THE INCUMBENT CANDIDATE IN PEOPLE'S MINDS. OBAMA'S SUCCESS HAS MADE BUSH MOOT. THE CHANGE MAY COST OBAMA THE VICTORY.

The conservative obsession with politics, dangerous when you're in charge as it tends to crowd out all other considerations, democratic, humanitarian, constitutional, common sense or otherwise, but becomes mostly amusing after you've fucked everything away as usual and are back to grasping at straws.

The really funny part is when you start giving advice to the opposition; "this is what dems ought to do, blah, blah", because that's when your utter absence of principle, forgotten in your devotion to playing the game itself reveals all your talk about "principles" and "values" as the affectations they are.

You assume everybody is playing the same game, and become confused when it turns out to be about actual principles and values and not about team sports.

Then the spin starts, etc., etc.
