"With President Obama's approval rating still deep underwater, a new survey from Fox News finds that Americans generally think George W. Bush ran a more "competent" administration. In the survey, a 48 percent plurality said Bush's White House was more competent, while 42 percent picked Obama's.

At the same time, fully two-thirds of Americans said Bill Clinton's administration was more competent than Obama's, versus only 18 percent who liked Obama's better."

I agree that Obama is less competent than Bush, and Clinton was more competent than both Bush and Obama. It's a sad state of affairs we're in.

I pointed out yesterday the fatal flaw in that poll (oversampled bitter-ender landline-only users).

Have we gone to war on false information, again?
Is Bin Laden still dead?

Do you think other polls from different pollsters with the same questions would come up with significantly different results?

I take it you are in the 42%. Are you also in the 18%?

I'm not sure what percent I'm in, but I was in the percent that never believed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and thought the war in Iraq was a mistake from the very start.

It doesn't matter how many polls are taken, or who believes what. Bush was a fuck up and Obama is President today. Those two facts are closely linked.

I'm in the percent that believes Iraq did have weapons of mass destruction, but believes the war was a mistake anyway.

I agree with your last comment.

George W. Bush is the stupid kid who sat out in the woods, alone, holding the bag to catch the Snipes. He loved Snipe hunts, and still does.

Oh he did, in 1988 during the Iran Iraq war. In 2003, not so much. The UN inspectors did their jobs. Not a single chemical weapon, other than relics still buried in the sand from the Iran Iraq war, were found.

Another completely misleading thread title from Toubab. The poll clearly states that it's the competency of the administrations that's being assessed, not the Presidents themselves.

Do you think people won't notice when you post lies?

If the had been, they would have been found. It was a farce based on "we wish it was true" intelligence reports.

For all practical purposes, every US soldier killed or wounded in Iraq was a waste.

some day, you too can even become an American
then you can work on becoming a man

Likewise with every Iraqi killed or wounded or starved or sickened or displaced as a direct or indirect result of the war.

He had them much later than in 1988 also. And used them much later. Even against his own people. But even if he still had them in 2003, which I think he did, that was insufficient reason to go to war. Bad call by Bush.

The thread title was a direct quote from the headline of the article, genius. And are you really stupid enough to think a president isn't responsible for his own administration?

I've seen intelligence reports that indicated they were there, and were probably removed to Syria after hostilities started. I think that's probably the case, but it doesn't matter to me. Bush should not have made the call to go to war over chemical weapons.

No matter what decisions Obama makes in the past or going forward, none will ever be as bad as the one to go to war against Iraq.

Oh, so you only echo the lies without thinking about them.
