O-H-I-O! Who is from OHIO?

Happy Monday

Trying to keep this thread alive... Happy Monday! Sucks that the browns lost, but it's not the same old team... you can confidently say, there is always next year" with actual merit now :).

Anyway, I'm bored and wanted to see if I could spark a conversation. NE Ohio guy. Trying hard not to fall into the pit of monotony.

Lots of snow covered fields around me. How's it looking for everyone else?

Amish Country

Drove up to Amish country yesterday. Sunny and brisk. 30 degrees and a pretty steady breeze.

Stopped at a few places. I needed candle wick so we went to Leyman's. They must make a fortune in there. Also stopped at an Amish grocery store way back off on a narrow barely 2 lane road. Only Amish shopping there. 5 buggies when we got there. Cold cut lunch meats and cheese, all in the mid $3.00 range.

36, northeast Ohio- I recognize a lot of the places mentioned in here. Good to feel at home

Wow!!! Just when I thought I was fed up with the cold and gray days.... Akron had to go and decide that 10 degrees F, every day for a week was a funny prank to play... 34/M looking to find a naughty sub in NE Ohio that needs warmed up.

That sunshine is good for my soul...thats not having such a good time

I will take all the sunshine

It was glorious today, despite spending most of it in my basement, when I did run a quick errand it was great to have the windows down, soaking up a little sun, and enjoying fresh air!

Gonna rain tomorrow but be warmer.... I guess we take what we can ..its ohio

I haven't been to Amish Country for several years. I'm thinking about going to Westside Market in the next week.

I've never been to Westside Market, is it worth a 45 minute drive? I think Amish country is overrated, but I used to work with a lot of them, so maybe I'm jaded.

My family and I used to go to the Westside Market every weekend. Do to our current jobs it makes it difficult to go up and we have not been there post COVID. I am also 45 minutes away as well. It was always a great day to get some fruits and vegetables, fresh baked bread, and meat from local butchers. Hope you go it is worth it.

Ashesatwork I started reading some of your stories and they are great. Do you plan on starting up again?

Haha those are some old stories. Thanks for dusting them off for me.

I wrote about 50 more but lost them to a broken flash drive a few years ago.

Oddly enough I have had a story spiraling in NY head for awhile that I need to get on paper to work out.

I really have just always wrote for me and never considered them good enough for lit.

Not sure which cornfields you are closest to, but I read your park bench story and it made me think of all the typical 100-140 year old small-town parks every old community here seems to have.

Having that sense of familiarity made it even better to see play out in my mind.

There are lots of small towns close ;)

Park bench is one of my favorites
