O Canada

Ok, I've heard of those two names.

No Doubts first record was pure ska... some of the later stuff still has it but with other influences mixed in. I had heard ska described as punk with horns before.

That's what I have heard too, but it also has a Jamaican influence or something. Let's just say it is different from Oi.

Exactly....Big Band meats Punk Rock :cathappy:

I know I helped hijack the thread but I will say this I really did love my time I got to drive in and around Canada except for the time I wanted to leave and head into Detroit. If you ever have to choose a border crossing don't pick that one.

I will not pick that border crossing. I might head for the Coutts-Sweetgrass crossing, if I wanted to.

Only been to Ontorio though I want to hit BC and the Yukon on my way to Alaska though.

You know, I spent the night at a friend's house last night, and as I walked in, there was a movie playing with a certain song (can't spoil my story yet). After the movie was over, we watched "50 Funniest moments in music" and this song made an appearance on that show ... And now I can't resist - I thought of the song as soon as I saw the title of this thread *sincere appoligies to my Canadian friends*

BLAME CANADA, BLAME CANADA With all their beady little eyes
And flapping heads so full of lies BLAME CANADA, BLAME CANADA ... (yes, I'm a South Park fan ... sorry y'all LOL)

*edited cuz I found the real lyrics hehehe*

I love how that song is a spoof of a song from 1919 - Thank You Canada.

That whole show is one spoof after another - I'm not particularly surprised that the song is a ripoff of an older song.

Spent my Canada Day moving my ex to her new flat half-way across the province. Still had a good time though, even if there weren't any fireworks.

The best holidays are the ones you celebrate with your closest friends.
