Recently I've been called a nympho by more tha none person. I think I just have a relaxed attitude and a very healthy sex drive.

So what is the difference between a Nymphomaniac and a person with a healthy sex drive?

Nymphomaniacs are women with the sex drive of men. :)

Nothing in wrong with your sex drive, its just like a man's. Fun, huh?

Although just a young branch on the tree of the medical profession, perhaps I can lend my learned expertise.

It's nymphomania if you're constantly screwing other guys. It's a healthy sex drive if you're constantly screwing me. ;)

Well that is a tricky one,but since nymphomania or sex addiction is a destructive abusive urge similiar to drug addiction and simply having lots of sane, safe, responsible sex is(in my book at least)normal yet perhaps high maintenance. I have a very high sex drive but I don't allow it to put me into dangerous or mentally unhealthy settings...My best friend always says as long as no endangered animals, small children or political figures are involved its all good naked fun.

Anyone but me notice it's always the women who are concerned with the nympho thing? Men aren't concerned with it...they just want names and addresses! Hey Princess... if you are happy with your sex drive, piss on em' (not literally unless you like that kinda thing, in which case go for it)

Now the question is, why are they calling you a Nympho? Are you totally consumed by thoughts of sex so that you skip something very important just to have sex?

It could be these people are just put off by your aggressiveness. Some guys always want to be in control (on top in other words). They hate the thought of a woman acting on her desires "like a man."

A healthy libido is a fine thing, but Nymphomania is a disease like depression or obsessive/compulsive disorder. If you think that you're a Nympho, you probably aren't because a Nympho wouldn't worry about it.

At least in my humble opinion

I couldn't agree more.

The Definition

From Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913) (web1913)
Nymphomania \Nym`pho*ma"ni*a\, n. [Gr. ? a bride + ? madness.] (Med.) Morbid and uncontrollable sexual desire in women, constituting a true disease.
---

I think the key difference between this and an active libido, is a nympho is compulsive about sex. If you can say no, and mean more than 'no, not now' You're not a nympho.

Just like a person can be an alcholic just because they need one drink at the same time every day, it's the need for sex that is the disease. Wanting to enjoy the enjoyable isn't enough. You have to need sex to be a nympho.

I'm a solo nymphomaniac. (If you get my drift ;) )

Actually is that possible, or does it require a partner to be true nymphomania? And what could be SO bad about Nymphomania anyway?! As long as you're got someone to help you out, what's the big deal?!

Why I think I'm a nympho?

Why do I ask? I don't have the need for sex every minute of every day, but i do crave it. More during certain times of the month than others. I can be insatiable, and i do have a high feeling that lasts beyond orgasm. I can say no, and mean it. I don't have sex with total strangers ever. EVER! But I do like to have a ton of fun. What does this make me???

It makes you a person in tune with your body, unfettered by the chains of our morbidly antisexual culture...

BTW, there is a condition found in men similar to nymphomania...it's called satyrism. Having a lot - or even a LOT a lot - of sex doesn't mean that you have one of these conditions...it's a true mental illness, more akin to obsessive-compulsive behavior than anything else. Sufferers generally don't get all that much enjoyment out of the act.

*wondering hat solo nymphomania is?*

(a little afraid to ask!)

Tennis elbow.....or maybe carpal tunnel syndrome...

I think a little personal counseling from this bunny might clear things up for ya princess....Wish I had a dollar for every nymphomaniac that suddenly got better upon meeting me!;)

More labels:rolleyes:.....just enjoy yourself...or me maybe!!!

I'm not sure about the nymphomania thing, but after careful consideration I am certain I am a lesbian!!
