Nut is not a verb!

Too bad. I was planning a story centered around the Republican primary, but for all of the characters involved, nut would be not just a verb, but a lifestyle...

It's common slang for "ejaculating" or "ejaculation"...

A quick google gave "nut" two more definitions as a verb.

1. To gather nuts (archaic)
2. To butt someone with your head (british, informal)

And "nut out" in Australia/NZ means figuring something out/solving a problem (from "nut" = "head", I presume).

My guess would have been that this is a colloquialism for "cracking a tough nut", which is, I believe, a metaphor for solving a difficult problem that can be found in a lot of languages.

Hm, that's also possible. We have "use your nut" (i.e. use your head) so either version seems plausible.

One can bust a nut.

Can one nut a bust?

Just wondering.

Well this would make it NOT a verb. So much material for you to write on!

You could here in the UK, but she would probably kick you in the goolies in retaliation.

Nut (head butt)
bust (breasts)
Goolies (testicles)

Cum is also not a verb. It's Latin for 'with.' That's just how I feel about it.

Smegma. Live with it.

But I digress. My partner has been lately addicted to playing an online Scrabble app. Many unbelievable words are cast as 'English'. The language really is a raw mish-mash of meanings, neologisms, migrants, ever-shifting usages, etc. Latin is just one of many evanescent sources. It's all Geek to me.

Also in Aust. "I can't be nutted" = I can't be bothered. Can also use stuffed, arsed, fucked, shagged, buggered... you get the picture?

I first saw that spelling of come as a double entendre in the title of a Quiet Riot song.

Ever since then I have thought of that usage as the province of semi-literate teenage boys.

It's accepted by erotica publishers at the moment: cum as a noun, and come as a verb.

Live with it or don't use it in your erotica, as you wish. But no one has veto power over others in current common practice except, in their own limited scope, those who are paying to publish it.

If you're using nut in dialogue "I nutted all over that slut's face, bro" then I don't see the problem.

People do not speak grammatically correct. People use slang and butcher words all the time. To me dialogue that is 100% 'proper' makes me think, who the hell speaks like this all the time?

So slang is realistic.

For personal taste I would never use the sentence I gave as an example, I don't like the expression and if I read it in others stories I roll my eyes, but not because its wrong, its just my opinion of the expression.
