I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Nurse's Week!

I know that many of us are underpaid and overworked. I know that sometimes we all feel burned out and unable to give any more. But after almost two decades in this profession, I still love being a nurse. I hope each of you can still feel good about your choice of career in spite of the crap we deal with on a daily basis.

Remember, even if they don't tell you.... you touch lives on a daily basis. You make a difference to your patients and their families. What you do matters.

Great lot nurses. I'd a lovely west indian girl look after me when I had 3 months in hospital. It reminds me about Just pet's exposure thread, although there's nothing erotic about having a catheter stuck up your willy.

What amused me was that for her own protection, whenever she needed to adjust the tube she always called in another nurse to witness it - in case I accused her of anything. So it was always like a threesome.

And in France in those days, two nurses used to come and give me a massage every day - except Sundays, and there was always a student nurse assigned to each patient to look after their "personal needs" - like hair cuts!

You've got my thanks, Desdemona, and all your nursemates.

Nurses !!!!

Love 'em. Dated a few. Still friends with them.

What a noble and worthwhile profession nursing is. They deserve not only better pay, but more recognition for the many contributions they make to society and to medicine.

Most of us come into this world...and many of us will leave it.... with a nurse at our side.

Happy Nurse's Week.....and CHEERS to you and your colleagues.

Happy Nurses Week

From one nurse to another. Have a great week. The stregnth in this profession is the smile on our patients face.

My sister is a nurse and I don't think people realize just how much you do or how hard it is.

the first apartment i lived in after getting out of the air force had 40 units. there were three married couples, four other single guys and nearly all of the other apartments were rented by two or three nursing students. you can't imagine the good memories i have of that place and how much i've always admired what nurses have to do to get to be a nurse and to continue to improve.

thanks

Thank You

Thank you for all the nice things said here about my Fellow Nurses. It's a hard job, but knowing people appreciate what we do gives that warm fuzzy feeling.... NO NOT THAT WARM FUZZY FEELING ... this one is a little higher up... around the heart.:D

Never knew there was a nurse's week, so consider me educated. It's a worthy job, one that needs doing, and one that after having taken care of an older relative for a little while I honestly don't know if I could handle. The pinnacle of props to all of you that do it.

Here's too nurses everywhere including my X who is as professional and as proficent an RN as there is.

After all, where would doctors be without nurses?........most would be pumping gas, right nurses? :)
