Number 10

My memory's failing me:

When I was a kid there was a scale of how far you "got" with a girl, where Number 10 was, (I assumed) fucking. Anybody know what the other numbers were?

Also, in "The Likely Lads", the original "lad" sitcom from the 1960', they talked about a scale starting "upstairs outside", "upstairs inside", etc.
Anybody know if this was a real scale, or a brilliant invention by the writers?

Sorry, Joe. Where I grew up we only had number one and number two, and they had nothing, or very little, to do with sex. I'm thinking it's a Brit thang (not a typo).

We only had the baseball analogy: first base was making out, second base was bare tit, third base was getting in her pants, and scoring was scoring.

I won't go into all the jokes about pop flies and bases on balls...

The only one I can remember was a class eight girl, who was a girl who would let you do what you liked, but talked such drivel that you wanted to keep your fingers in your ears the whole time you were with her.

I have to admit, the only thing I ever heard was the same baseball analogy as dr.m -- Although I never heard the jokes about the pop flies, etc.....inquiring minds need to know!!
