Nucular vs Nuclear

You really say "NOO-kyuh-luhs"?

I was just kidding. Did you ever have Latin?

Besides, yes, "nucleus" is a borrowing from a foreign language, but, aside from a different quality to the vowels, Romans and English speakers pronounce that series of letters in a very similar way.

On the other hand "ll" represents a jod sound in present-day Spanish, but in English it is natively just another what is it called?
Lingual? L-sound in other words.

Hey, he graduated from Yale and managed to successfully run one of the largest states in the US.

He can pronounce it "Banarna" for all I give a fuck.

His family bought his way through Yale (you forgot Harvard), just as they bought every other "success" in his life.

Had he been born to my parents he would have been lucky to have made it through Walters State Community College with his intellect.

Bought his way? You dont think they need a cdeertain GPA to be there?

Or did his parents buy that too?
Careful, push him too hard and he will have to reassure himself by telling you all about Mensa and his degrees.

And you have proof of this or is it the same old crap I've heard for a few years now?

It smells like the latter.

I'm quite sure the 27 million Iraqis weren't quibbling over his language, given that they didn't have the free oportunity to see the speech. I'm damned sure that the 1.5 million Hussein has slaughtered didn't have that chance either.

Are you that naïve? The Bush's are one of America's wealthiest and best connected families. Do you really think he has an Ivy-League intellect? Do you honestly believe that?

Whence this red herring? I happen to support the impending military action. That doesn't mean I can deny that Bush is an imbecile. The fact that he is one is beyond evident, and that fact is reinforced each time he opens his mouth.

Im beginng to think he has a lot more intellect then you. You have a paranoid quality about you.
e_e, ya know i love you, but I'm gonna have to agree to disagree with you on this issue. The man's a well connected dumb ass member of the lucky sperm club, and that 's about the nicest way I can think to put it.

There is a fine line between paranoid and realistic, but that is neither here nor there. You didn't answer the question.

Do you really think that Bush would have been and Ivy Leaguer, oil baron, baseball-team owner, governor, or President had he not been born into priviledge?

lol, you cant graduate from an Ivy League school because your family has money. There is a little more to an education then how rich you are.

If you believe that then you are naïve - at least in regard to networking.

BK, I took what some people criticized me for to heart. Have you seen any argumenta ad hominem in this thread on my part? I've seen many such attacks against me, but I have refrained from reciprocating.

Let me ask you a question. What is the median SAT for an applicant entering college?

In 2002, it was 1020.

Any idea what the President's SAT score was when he entered Yale?

It was 1206.

That score and that his father also attended Yale was quite enough to gain him entry.

Ok, you are right. If you have changed your ways you do deserve a second chance. The claws are retracted.

I love when you do that.

Topher I think that it's possibly due to the fact that people have seen you slam when you highly disagree with something, I'm sure if you continue being respectful that will change. :)

It's not a red herring. It supports my point that he is not easily drawn away from the notion of using military force to liberate the oppressed which is a rather complex line of political thought.

And I disagree with your contention that his imbicility is self-evident. It is hardly so to me, nor to those who have spent appreciable time with him and have written about their experiences. In fact, those writers have made the opposite claim from you - that the President is far smarter than he may appear.

I prefer to believe them than you.

Any trained monkey can score well on those tests. Bush did go to one of the most prestigious boy's schools in the US (forget the name).

My ACT translates to an SAT 1470. Where was my Yale acceptance letter (to be fair I didn't bother applying).
