Well today was a productive day down here. My parents showed up at roughly 0900 with the back of theri car loaded with tools and other supplies.

We pulled the Saw Horses around front and ran extension cords. We grabbed the Plywood from the storage area and set up two work benches. Then we got to work at 1000.

From 1000 until 1700 my father and I laid the wood laminate in the front room. It went a lot easier than I expected and before long my father was sitting back watching as I did the work. The only thing left for that room is to put in the floating baseboards tomorrow morning, and drill through to get the cable for the TV.

It was a lot easier than I expected, even around the problem areas like the Floor Vents and the slider. Oh it looks good.

When we were done I fired up the grill as my father checked out my roof. (He's thinking of having one like mine installed.) Yep, I made the Kabobs I mentioned and I'm happy to say they turned out better than I expected. Much better. Hell my mother even complimented me on them and she doesn't hand out compliments about food very often.

All in all a good and productive day.

Next step, what is currently the living room.

Hey cat did I mention to you that all the laminate flooring manufacturers now want that gap around the edges to be 3/8 inch instead of 1/4? :D

So really. You have to give us pics of the finished project and send up some of those kabobs too.

"I" had nothing to do with it. "I" am a product of the mayflower...thems what did then changing, not "I".

oo and u substitutions are so damn much fun.

Yes, well SeaCat is a bit more highbrow than we are. He left the vowels in, where most of us would have called them kbbs.

Give me another day or so and I'll try to get some pictures of the front room. As for the gapping, I don't think I have to worry about that. (The gaps are actually 1/2 inch.)

As for the Kabobs, want the recipe? They are actually easy.

Oh I like it and we're getting ready to work on the next room. By the time we're done almost all of the place will be done in this flooring. It will be nice.

The front room, what is now the living room is now nice and light. It has brightened the entire room and made it much friendlier.

Here is another shot of the flooring.
