I had everything ready for when we got home. My wife and I had dcided we would have B.L.T.'s for dinner. I decided to add a bit of a twist.

We picked up a loaf of Sourdough Bread on the way home.

The Bacon was thick cut and slow cooked and just on the edge of being crispy. As I pulled it out of the frying pan I hit it lightly with fresh ground Black Pepper.

We built the sandwiches with a bed of Iceberg Lettuce, then thin slices of Tomatoes. The Bacon was added and topped with almost paper thin slices of Sweet Onion. To this was added another layer of thin cut Tomatoe when the second slice of bread.

No avocado? I need the option of avocado...and some nice, rich, homemade mayo to slather on the bread.

And heck, if you're going to go for sourdough, lets add some lobster! I adore lobster-bacon sandwiches.

Nope, no avocado in the place right now. (I do have to do some shopping tomorrow.)

Mayo, *shudder* My wife loves the stuff and makes her own. (Yes she put it on her B.L.T.'s tonight.) I can't stand the stuff though.

As for the Lobster. I'm not paying for real Lobster down here. (I can catch plenty of Lagaustino if I want it.) Besides there is only one way I'll eat Lobster now. (Grilled and stuffed.) I ate too much of it growing up.

There's a phrase I'll bet I've heard a million times! :D Now I'm starving, and nothing will do. Oh, well, off to the kitchen for the peanut butter and a spoon.

I cannot recommend the BLTs at the Connaught in London highly enough. Every ingredient exactly as you'd prepare it yourself. The perfect, if extortionately expensive, cure for Americans craving food from home while in London.

I swear to god i'm moving in with you or near you just for the food *slobbers*
