One thing to keep in mind about Latinos in the US… if they liked Latinos in general, they’d have probably stayed in Latin America. The big Democratic Party mistake was in thinking that there’d be some sense gratitude. People don’t vote based on gratitude. They vote based on fear and greed. Repubs got the fear part locked down. Dems were supposed to lock down greed, but they fucked that up.

But seriously, deporting a bunch of recent religious arrivals isn’t actually a bad idea. It’s not like having three separate groups of religious extremists is better than having one.

I think this isn’t really the contradiction you think it is. The last things these guys want is more competition. Pretty much everyone comes or goes because of opportunity. It’s just kind of relative on what that means.

Religious nut jobs are in it for the long con. They’ve been here before any of us were born, they’ll be here long after we’re all dead.

Trump is 78. Given his mental decline, I doubt he’ll be able to comprehend policy, let alone execute it. The repubs will just give him a shiny toy every once in a while and tell him his stock prices are going up. He fucks a prostitute, signs whatever they want him to sign, they go about making the country into an evangelical haven.

There’s a reason Elon Musk has declared himself a faithful Christian. He isn’t in it for the salvation, that’s for sure.
