I should screw reading the last 2 installments

spoliers

Let's see, someone acidently told me that Bilbo dies. Well looking up some news about TTT, I accidently stumbled over a line about Aragorn's death. My Dad told me that Gandalf returns. AND!!!!! Last, but nbot least, I was reading about Chrispoher Lee, &, accidently read about Saruman's death. Anyone else wanna spill anything that I havn't already?

You can read the last two installements without a problem.
Aragorn doesn't die in the story as such but in the "afterword" sort of.
Bilbo is ancient more or less according to Hobbit standards and only acquired that ripe old age thanks to the ring and since he has no real impact on the story it's all natural.
Saruman doesn't just keel over either but also at the end. You'd miss out on very much if you didn't read the last two books.

As for spoilers,I'm not giving any.

I'm still gonna read the story. I'm just pissed I know so much, already. MMy Dad was being a complete idiot when he tld me about gandalf. I told him, I was just starting the 2 Towers, &, he said, "Have you gotten to the part where Gandalf returns?" I was, like, "Um...no. But thanks for telling me."

That's the worst thing ever that can happen.
There are smarter ways to handle it,like asking how far you've gotten into the book :D

My dad isn't that smart. True story...I was watching a movie that my Dad saw, I havn't. So, he proceeded to tell me all about it. So, I look at him, and, say, "What did I just tell you?"

It sounds like your father is a bit like mine.

When watching a film:

Dad: "I think I've seen this but I can't remember if I have. Have you seen it?'

Me: 'No.'

Dad: 'What happens in it?'

Me: 'I don't know. I haven't seen it.'

Dad: 'I'm not sure but isn't there a murder they're trying to solve?'

Me: 'I don't know. I haven't seen it. Shut up.'

Dad: 'Oh, yes. That's right. I remember now. They think they have the killer but it's not. It's a really clever twist. Turns out it's someone on the force - that's him. He's really the killer. Do you remember it now?'

Me: 'SHUT UP!'

I haven't watched a film with my father for something like 20 years.

Well, so you know it all...? I think not..!!

I've read the Trilogy 3 times, on the fourth reading now. There's always something more that you pick up from each reading. Will i forget the movies coz I have read the books..?

HELL NO....

Ok, I'm from New Zealand, where it was created (the movie), its awesome to see a shot in the first film and know exactly where it was taken. To be able to say, "I've been there, I've seen that vista" is just something else. It really puts you in touch with the movie.

Roll on 19th Dec, when Two Towers is released here, I'll be waiting in line.

L O T R rocks!!!

Have you got to the bit where the flying saucers land yet?

And the scene where Sam explodes is brilliant.

Although I didn't like the bit where Pipin and Merry are turned into trees.

Is that before or after Legolas fucks Gimli.....???

Muhahahahahahahaha :D :D :D

Sam explodes just around the time that Grimma Wormtoungue stabs Gandolf and so weakens him enough for Sauron to take him over.

I think that JRR should have had Gimli cut Gandolf's head off instead of Aragorn, after Leggolas shoots him.

Your AV cracked me up!

I have read all 4 volumes at least 6 times and have listened to the unabridged recording several more. Everytime, I see and feel something new.

read on

Shhhh! You're giving away the plot.

Bilbo dies? Not in my book. He's right there, two pages from the end.

If this is a spoiler, it's only because the earlier comment wasn't.

Well...

If you go to the stores and check out any figures they have .... the retailers spoil things right away.

Gandalf the Gray and Gandalf the White.

And on the back of the package, it tells about his return.

Kind of sucks IMHO.

They should have waited.

I ALWAYS spoil stuff. Although, sometimes, it's my own fault. Like, once I was reading about Phantom Menace, &, it said, "Spoiler-Do NOT read on if you want a plot point spoiled." What do I do? Read on. So, I can't blame my Dad for his stupidity. I do it myself. Curiousity killed the cat. Waht I REALLY love, is, when you forget to watch a show, then, it's the hot topic the next day. My Dad punished me, so, I couldn't see teh last installment of The Stand. The next day, "WOW!!!! Did you see The Stand last night..." I'm sitting their, with my fingers in my ears. "La la la la la"
