"Now or Never"

I was trying to think of something along the lines of a husband, tired of constantly being denied sex, who finally gives his wife an ultimatum: put out this week or he will never approach or sleep with her again. Hence the "Now or Never" theme. After all, sex shouldn't be always on her terms. If she can refuse him, he can refuse her. That statement clarifies the issue for her, but she still refuses to sleep with him, hoping that he is bluffing. When she finds divorce papers, however, she panicks.

The husband really doesn't want to leave her, but he feels that only the strongest statement will prompt her to grasp that she can't use sex as a weapon, that he can withhold sex too if she can. Since she grew up being taught that she was supposed to deny him whenever she was upset with him, she finds the whole matter of him turning the tables on her a bit of a jolt.

The only question is where to take it next. Should I have her give in at the last moment or should she refuse and taste her own medicine?

I kinda like this. But I guess there's a few ways to go next.

When he gives her the divorce papers, she quickly strips naked, begging him to fuck her. He could refuse, so she smacks him upside the head with a frying pan. When he wakes up, he's tied spread eagle on the bed, naked.

Or, she stays naked when ever she's home, hoping that her naked body will entice the soon-to-be ex-husband to have sex with her and cancel the divorce. With great will power, he continues to refuse sex. Then one day, his friend drops by...

Skip the divorce papers. Its two months and they haven't had sex. Finally, one Friday night after dinner, he gets up and announces he going out to try and get laid. He comes home happy. A few days later, the wife does the same thing. She doesn't come home until the next day. They live happily ever after. They just don't have sex with each other.

I'm sure my perverted mind could come up with a few more...

The point is to turn the tables on her and make it clear that refusing sex now will mean that she doesn't get any later when SHE wants it. Sooner or later, she will. He is trying to make it clear that sex isn't just on her terms. He gives her a week to think about it, so that she will have a full, fair chance to weigh the consequences of refusing him.

I certainly never meant for my thoughts on this thread to be offensive to anybody and the credit card remark was only thrown out as one possible line the story could take. However your comments about looking at the story from the wife's view point would be totally different than an assumed male view point. If the writer could successfully navigate between both the husband's and wife's view points I think the story could be quite interesting. Just from a writing, plot, point of view characterization stance the writer would have to be adept at handling all of that for two main characters. That would be good.

I can't really think on any stories that I know of that go back and forth between the thoughts of two main characters. It would be very interesting to see that sort of thought process as each character thinks then acts. I'm sure having the wife go into some sort of tirade could move the story along however by that time we'd have to already be deep into her head to understand her thoughts since the tirade would be a distillation of a long and complex thought process she'd already undertaken. This type of story seems like it could be an interesting character study of an interaction between two characters over what starts with misunderstanding.

I've heard of a lot of women doing this, some even tried to give me such "advice". They use sex to get something they want. Sometimes it's not a physical thing, but an emotional one. Maybe the wife just wants to feel saught over and by keeping her husband a horny mess begging after her then she's getting that satisfaction. But when he stops begging, she has to try something different. She starts begging him, looking for that same gratification that she was getting before, the simple knowledge that she's desireable.

So maybe one night she's so absolutely frusterated, as is he, that she does her best to suduce him, as she has all week to no avail. But this time he pushes her away with a bit more force. She's really turned on by this, and trys again to feel up on him. He grabs her by the wrists and pushes her onto the table. Her back is bent over it, he's pushed right up against her. She can feel his hard cock against her hot crotch with little more than a few shreds of fabric seperating them. He leans over her and very sternly says "I said no", then lets go of her and walks into the kitchen or something. As she slowly starts to process what just happened and manages to get to her feet he walks back in the room. I would just make it a happy ending for him.

He divorces her. She doesn't panick right away. He still lives close, so she sees him in their circle of friends. It's harder on him than it is for her, in her eyes. She waits for him to come crawling back to her. Their friends doesn't tell her that he is seeing someone who is not afraid of the little things, like public shows of affection. When she boast to their friends that he'll come back to her begging, they tell her that he has been seeing someone else. He shows up with his new babe, and the new babe has a ring on her finger.

That's my take.

Either way sounds like she needs a lesson.

Then what about the husband, maybe she is witholding because if he can't do it right then he doesn't need to be doing it at all. Maybe he doesn't make her feel like she's more to him than just a piece of ass, even though he may love her like crazy.

Maybe they both need a lesson. It all depends on how you want the story to play out.

Drive her crazy wanting him in little ways that almost don't seem sexual at all. Dress differently, walk around the house shirtless (assuming he is going to have a great body...hey it's fiction! Everyone looks good!) Have him brush against her, touch her 'innocently', lean over her to reach for something all sorts of little things. A man can be just as much of a tease as a woman can and it can be sexy as hell. Have him make her want him so much she is begging him for it, have him force her to admit how much she wants him, then have him show her just what she's been missing by being so repressed.

Interesting tack. Maybe she believes that sex is solely for procreation and divorce is a mortal sin. But I personally like the idea that she is just using sex for control or power. She buys into that women's magazine BS about using sex to manipulate a man, and doesn't realize how much it can backfire. This was my general theme at the outset. The idea that I was playing with. If he turns the tables and lets her feel what it is like to have someone use sex as a weapon, then she gets the idea. If she was repressed, after all, then she probably wouldn't miss it as much and the only threat that would occur to him about divorce is the notion of eternal damnation (another tack, true, but not where I was going). He is trying to make her see that "two can play that game" or "turnabout is fair play".

I DO like the divorce papers on the fridge as a gimmick, though. Nice idea.
