Not so Romantic 1-Bomber?

Has anyone noticed an increase in 1-votes in the Romance category? I don't recall having this issue with the first 4 chapters of my stories, even though they had reasonable scores, and Romance is usually a fairly friendly category.

For the last two chapters my 3rd or 4th vote has been a 1 every time, which of course kills the score completely. Any idea if someone particular is stalking the category?

That could be, but it's more likely someone is stalking you. I haven't written a romance in quite a while, but it does tend to be a friendly category, but without many readers. Possibly somebody who dislikes serials (a serial killer?) or objects to waiting so long between chapters.

Sounds personal, sometimes you develop personal trolls. several chapters into my series I noticed on the days my story came up two one bombs always between 12-12:30 obviously a lunch time reader.

Whoever they are, they're rather smart because their votes stick despite any sweeping.

And people complain about feedback being left as 'Anonymous' - if I have feedback, even negative, I always post under my name instead of hiding away. I can probably thank that for the existence of my new stalker...

A "3" vote does not usually get swept, unless it is considered by the Hoover to be a duplicate. I don't know how that would happen, but it sometimes does. The thing is, a "3" isn't really a bomb. It's saying "It was okay, but nothing special." In other words, average.

Agreed - those are the worst, and so hard to pinpoint as well!

Well, in this case it was definitely a 1, as it was vote # 3 and...

Vote 1: 4 = score 4
Vote 2: 5 = score 4.5
Vote 3: 1 = score 3.33

Thankfully it was a slow weekend in the Romance category and the chapter was in the new list long enough to recover! (take that, nasty little troll!)
