Thread highjacking in progress, stay calm
I'm going to use this thread to ask a question that has intrigued me.
Professional hockey and Pro basketball are played at the same time of year. Now, in the winter. Basketball was originally created to be an indoor winter sport. The Winter Olympics are coming up soon in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hockey will take a hiatus so the pros can compete for a gold medal. Fine, that makes sense.
But basketball, another winter sport won't be there. It competes in the "SUMMER" Olympics!!! Can anybody explain to me why that is, other than the reason being that pinheads run the International Olympic Committee?

While I'm on the subject perhaps you'd prefer this one. They are trying to get "Ballroom Dancing" included as a sport in the Olympics. Have we reached the end of the road finally? Are they kidding?
