Not a typical question...

not what I was expecting to find here that is for certain.

I don't much get into political debates these days. In reality that's pretty sad for me to say. I was a student aide for Clinton's first campaign as an idealistic 18 yr. old poli-sci major. Was totally mesmerized by the man and his plans for the country. It of course didn't hurt that the guy was charming enough to sell an Eskimo an icebox. I think I spent more time campaigning for him then I did eating or sleeping that year. By the end of his first term I was really disenchanted with politics. Of course I was also 4 years older, married to soldier, caring for a new baby and trying to make ends meet and keep my husband safe. I didn't go back for the second round although I was asked to work for the campaign again and by the end of the second term I was thoroughly disgusted with the administration and politics in general.

I was unable to drag myself to the other side and go republican. I'm just not the type I'm afraid, but I couldn't in good conscience vote for Gore either and ended up voting independent almost out of protest the last go round. I vote now mainly because I support those who sacrificed and suffered to give me that priviliedge. I vote because at least then I know I made my voice heard even if nobody really listened, but I stopped voting to make a real difference after the first Clinton term. Politicians are all basically full of shit and doubly so in an election year. In the end I still believe that lobbies and special interest groups run this country and influence our govt. far more then the voices of the people. I know I was an idealist to think that it was any other way, but it's still turned me off the whole political process. A democrat will almost always focus on the domestic agenda and screw us over in foreign affairs and military matters. A republican will almost always ignore domestic troubles and turn his attention to the military and foreign policy.- I do realize this is a very broad generalization before I get pounced on.- there will always be one contigent that isn't happy and thinks we're getting screwed. I think until we're able to find a way to be a responsible, fair and trustworthy player in both the global and national playing field, until we're able to find a way to encourage both national and international growth and prosperity we're never going to have the right kind of leader in the white house.
I don't think Bush is our man, but then again I don't think, Dean, or Gephardt, or Kerry are going to to a bang up job either.
In the end I think I'll probably be one of those weirdos voting for Wes Clark, but...at least I'll still be voting and not bitching about something I did nothing to prevent.:)

Bush belongs just over the genitals. Not in the white house. :D

Nuff said, lets talk about good stuff instead of politics.. :p
