A year or two ago, a neighbor with huge TRUMP signs, flags, etc. tried to sell a house. Listed and moved out but the signs remained. This is in a very RED area but the house didn't sell and weeks turned into months. Prices dropped and the contracted realtor changed. The new one took the signs down and the house sold in fairly short order, albeit, at a much lower price than the original listing.

A year ago I bought a Tesla. My relatives and House representatives let me know that this was a big mistake. It's too cold, they won't last; drill baby drill, etc. I am 200 miles from the nearest Tesla service center and I have had troubles. First the front motor went out and then the brakes started leaking fluid. All under warranty but as I watch this company struggle to move forward with Rs unsupportive of EVs I'm wondering who the F this CEO/founder might be? I read one of his many biographies several years ago and thought he was eccentric but I'm wondering why a company, that is very much supported by current administrative policies, would funnel $25million per month into another, loser businessman's political campaign?!Efficiency Expert? Really? The brake issue I referenced has had the warranty service in the shop for a week now. NO part to fix it. Had to be ordered. Supply chain not in place. How many of us have an extra vehicle lying around that we can just put up on blocks for a week or more? Yes, I got a loaner but will drive 800 miles (2 round trips) to get mine back.

Trump has at least 15 failed business ventures, six of those having gone belly up. With thousands of lawsuits, and his latest venture (Truth Social) circling the drain, I think this begs the question: Do we want the USA to be his next disaster? Seems like nearly half of us do. Really brother? Really?

You admit you're not a business person so you don't really understand the dynamics involved. BUT, to put it simply, if you never try reaching for the brass ring, you never have to face the realization that you missed and you can ignore the fact that you just sat there and let life/success pass you by.

On the other hand, those who do reach for the brass ring often do miss. Yet each failure teaches a valuable lesson, much like learning how to walk and falling on your bum teaches a valuable lesson.

It is much the same in business. You invest your time/energy/capital and you hope you don't miss. If you do, you learn from your mistakes and move on. This isn't a bad thing because the ultimate goal is to catch the brass ring. Even if you only manage to do it once out of 100 attempts that's still more successes than the guy who never tries.

well, the average magat actively hates the US and wants to see it burn. They’d suck off Putin for the chance to kill their neighbors. The other “reasonable” Republicans don’t actually care about either, but want lower taxes so badly they’d be willing to let the magats suck off Putin to kill their neighbors.

Do you think now maybe your relatives were right?

To some degree their cautions had merit. As I'm fuming over the many hours and miles put into dealing with issues that are under warranty but result in having to deal with infrastructure that's not yet in place, I have to remind myself of a few things. When internal combustion engines were first on the scene and referred to as "horseless carriages" the owners might have to walk a mile or two to get the nearest farmer and his/her horses to pull one out of the muck or a ditch. I knew in advance that service was 200 miles away and decided to go for it anyway. That being said, every auto manufacturer has recalls and vehicles that come off the line with one issue or another. Lots of warranty work being done to make up for poor assembly or parts or employee carelessness or lack of quality control. For all its warts, I really do love the car.

My post is just me, wondering why anyone trying to make their own business a success would possibly alienate half of his potential customers by hitching his wagon to a multiple-failure business loser. HisArpy explained that to some degree, although, in my humble opinion my choice of a humanitarian career was not a choice to "let life/success pass [me] by". I have had a richly fulfilling life by helping others, staying frugal and helping family members to succeed in their career/life choices. I do understand that deciding to go into business can be a risky venture. I don't understand why a businessman that has never been successful, other than a stint as an actor, would qualify as a leader. I don't see a single quality in him that I would aspire to nor want my children and grandchildren to emulate.

Elon Musk is like a rich Donald Trump. He bought his way into running Tesla, but he doesn’t know anything about how to run a big company or how to make a quality car.

Trump ran the country for 4 years and it's still here. Biden ran the country for 3 years and it's still here. Some people just need to grow the fuck up. :)

Most of the rich people I’ve met have been stupid. I don’t hate rich people but I do hate stupid people.

So they got rich by being stupid? Or, if they inherited their wealth, they keep it by being stupid?

I think it's not rich people whom you hate. Nor do I think that it's "the rich" who are the stupid ones.

There's a book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, by Robert Kyosaki. You should read it. Available at Amazon or the public liberry.

Probably can't afford it. :)

I bought a used Chevy Spark
All electric
After 50,000 miles it seems to want service but I see no cause to take it in
Solar panels give it sufficient charge for my local use
Acceleration is like an amusement park ride and can be scary if I floor it
Why would I need a Tesla? I’m happy paying less to “recycle” this car

Musk? Which of his bastard children designed his his awful trucks ?? I’d send his foreign born ass home in a minute except that I realize we owe a lot to immigrants who come here and work or create work.

Loved his magnetic tube idea, I hope no one other than him lost money on that boondoggle!!

Mars??! Fuck off!! Unless Musk goes first! Leaving his billions here.

Being rich allows people to be stupid with no consequences. Eventually it becomes a habit for them.

When you go to the liberry to check out that book (Rich Dad, Poor Dad) you should also check out a dictionary.

Because that word you keep using doesn't mean what you think it means.

Maybe you should try out a dictionary—then you’d know how to spell library. 🙄
