Norton 05 help !!

I need help.
asap.

a friend and I put norton 05 on my computer.
We couldn't get aim to work
she finally did
we didn't remember what it was done to fix it.
i unplugged it from the campus network today to go to a friend's apartment
everything worked fine there on their wireless.

get back here
plug in
and aim/yahoo im doesn't work


what do I need to do for things to work??

(and don't say "dont use norton it sucks etc... blablabla")

I don't use Norton so I'm just guessing, but have you configured your firewall to allow aim or yahoo access?

I'm sorry, I can't help it. Norton sucks.
Sometimes I think a virus would actually be better.
