How many people on this board are near the northwest USA? I'm wondering because it drives me crazy when people all over Literotica get to plan meetings and stuff and I'm always thinking "why can't anyone *I* want to meet have a 'litogether'"

would anyone be interested?

I doubt there is anyone from Ore-Gun on Lit at all, Chicklet ;)

Edited for proper pronunciation

Well, I think meeting people from the Hangout would be fun (most of the rest of the forums are pretty scary to me), but I don't know how many people would actually be willing to slip out from behind the safe anonymity of the board and be 'seen' in public as their real selves with all their aliased friends.

There would be a great temptation for many people to think that the event was intended to be one giant orgy.

If you're ever in my neck of the woods, or I in yours, I would be happy to stop and have a cup of coffee with you and talk about writing.

I'm from Seattle, Chicklet, and I know of several other Litsters in the area.

We're everywhere...{diabolical laugh}

Waves from Oregon, Chicklet.

Chicklet, you know I could be wrong, but I believe I met you in Chat once and I think we are from the same part of Oregon. I am cherilynn in Literotica chat.

I do not post much here, but I am always lurking, for several years, especially in this hangout.

Also, I have noticed on a number of occasions in the playground and the personnels, threads for who is from PNW & they have tried to plan some get togethers. Which I think was along the lines of what ffreak was saying. Orgies and not the writing kind.
I don't think those people write stories. <lol>

So you are not a lone erotic writer in Ore-Gun, or a lone Ore-Gun-Ian on the boards.

Eff, my fear would be having my illusions shattered by meeting Lit. people in person.

Perdita

You dare to suggest that several posters in the AH are not what they may appear to be? Oh come now, predita! It's all a matter of perspective. I mean after all, 300 pounds isn't that far off from 110, now is it?

OMG!... The thoughts and images that come to mind... like:

The pearly white toothless smile

The perky 38DDD's hanging around ones knees

The long, flowing golden tresses overcome by the rat-brown hi-lites

The cute little fat-ass sitting atop two long, lithe hair legs

Hmmmm yummy!

Jenn, very funny, but I wasn't thinking of physiologies. :)

I know that not everyone thinks as I, maybe a little naive to some, but in reality, just accepting.

Were I to have the privilege of meeting another author (Lit or otherwise), it would not be as a fantasy fueled expectation.

Everyone I've met in the Hangout is a beautiful person to me. We get to see the real, inner person here by listening to the many personas and having fun seeing each other grow.

No, I don't look like Cary Grant, or Robert Redford. But when I see a person, I see the laughter dancing in their eyes, and hear the music in their voice, and I try to dispel the bogeymen so we can all sleep with our dreams.

It probably sounds corny, but my biggest hesitation on meeting (or suggesting such meetings) with other people from Lit is simply that I would be afraid of other people's possible expectations of something more physical than a peck on the cheek, or a hug. In reality, I'm a really shy person, and this board is an amazing place to let myself talk with distant brother and sister writers.

Sorry, Chicklet, I know you started this with an intent of meeting folks who share your interests in the forum, but the father in me says, be careful. Arm's length is safe.

I've met individuals from Literotica, but there are lots that I would *like* to meet.

not for orgies.

Don't mind me, I'm just an old father-type.

Did not mean to imply you, nor whomever you have met were looking for anything other than brilliant conversation.

Maybe as an author of stories about people whose sole intent of getting together is an erotic encounter, my imagination (and fears) are just a little too active.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I get a little raw even ignoring some of the feedback I get about my stories. So many of them assume that I am a character in them, moaning with orgasm after orgasm. A lot of Lit readers just assume that's the way I live. They are wrong, of course. This is fiction.

For that reason I've always refused to meet anyone from here. The folks from the AH could be different because I'm sure they get the same reactions from their readers.

Should we let them know you don't have to be a Ho to write porn?

Yeah, Jenny, and tell that we don't have to be a (what the hell do they call the guys) either.

(no references to how the angel got that christmas tree stuck up her ass)
