North to the Future

What better place than there where the tempt fluctuations are so wide. But srsly, how often do you get into the 80's? I was not aware.

Summertime in the interior is quite warm. I have personally been at about 100°F out on the shooting range at Ft Wainwright.

On the NextDoor App notice: "Grizzly kill on Villages Scenic. Bear keeps returning along with large black bear. Close to Potter Valley Rd"

I was thinking of biking over that way, today. Glad I chose another route.

Log Home on 70 acres with 1850′ airstrip. Off grid w/ Genset/Battery Pack. No property taxes. 42 miles to Denali NP.

Yeah, it's cold as fuckall in the winter in Clear but you can drive there.

Too small a solar array to start,( I have three such arrays and I live in one the sunniest parts of Canada) and the solar hours up there are pretty limited to I suspect, its listing would be more accurate as a genset with solar back up....:)

Still the house is pretty nice....

Not a great place to live unless you work at Clear AFS, IMO. But, perhaps the owner is extremely thrifty with their electricity use? Otherwise, you easily outgrow into your capacity.

The Northern Lights Genset is a pretty nice rig. Probably powered with a Lugger diesel that sips fuel.

I'm not familiar with the genset but I know some of them are really fuel efficient. Not sure I'd want diesel that far north. I use a gas generator here, Honda EU 2000. Too cold for diesel in the winter months. But considering I don't even use 60 gallons of gas a year, I don't really need to worry about efficiency all that much.

I have an EU3000 at my cabin. Nice for running the table saw and other stuff. Still, the bitch doesn't like -25°F without some fiddling, even with the anti carb icing kit installed. The NL unit needs a forklift to set it. I can boost the Honda up onto the tail gate for maintenance, when I have to.
