I never saw the 3rd movie. The second sucked balls and I didn't really care how it ended so I never bothered. Plus I couldn't get over constantly wondering why they kept shooting up the place when they know it doesn't do any good. It's noise for the sake of noise. And the slomo bullet thing gets old really really fast.
First one was pretty cool tho.

Waterworld wasn't nearly as bad as people think. It certainly wasn't great but I didn't feel ripped off or want those hours back or anything. It was dumb fun. Nothing wrong with that.

I liked Waterworld. You just can't go into it as a serious movie.
The Matrix films got progressively worse though. I'll see number four but probably not at the cinema.
