Somehow I doubt I could put my korean stuff up though. Or the stuff in hanga (chinese pictographs in korea kanji in japan)

Sure - give me a yell Laurel if you want me to give anything a look ... *lol* I am even somewhat reliable with spelling and grammar in German ... as opposed to English, where picturing me as a "volunteer editor" has entertainment value at best *lol*

I'm glad people are enjoying the new category! I've received a few letters asking that I translate those stories into English so the English-speakers can enjoy them also. However, 1) I am very monolingual so I can't translate nothin, and 2) I agree that many of the stories probably wouldn't be the same outside of their native language. Since we have thousands of stories in English, I don't think it's wrong to have a few NOT in English. Is that harsh? Let me know...

Laurel, I think you're right. I've tried to translate some of my stories, but they loose some of their intensity by translating them. (Not to mention my far from perfect style, grammar and spelling...)
Not EVERY story has to be in english. Although I would love to understand the spanish (or french, or...) ones...

I agree on the translation difficulties...

actually, the stories I have written that are available in English have been written in English originally. There is no German translation of those available. It just wouldn't work propperly. I do have a few German ones "in store" but since there never seemd to be an audience for those I never really refined and edited them propperly .. so I may start that process some time and submit them (now with the new way of submitting it should be so much easier*s*)

... and I agree on the fact that not all stories have to be available in English! Maybe that will force some people to revive their dormant language skills .. so once again we would proofe that Lit is a very educative place to go

As I said - I can volunteer for German submissions ... as for other languages ... my Italian will suffice to tell you if the story is in some way particularily offensive or against the Lit rules concerning minors etc. but I wouldn't venture to anything else in that field.

I think some of the Canadian Literoticans should be able to help you with the French though.

Hmmmmmm, maybe Latina? Or Renegade? They speakee spanish. I could become fluent in the language, but that would take at least 6 months to accomplish.

Cyan Bloodsbane is Canadian and English is his second language.

Perhaps you could post an ad in the personals, though the General board might give you better results, for an editor in these languages. Send them three submissions, one you would accept, one that is iffy and one that you wouldn't accept (all based upon writing quality, no broken rules) to see what they'd say about them. That way you have some sort of base to work with.
