I think the best way to see if the story will work is to just submit it, let it get approved and see if it attracts writers. Non-consent that does not violate any Chyoo rules should not be a problem to get approved.
I say post it under Erotic Couplings and tell people where it is. If it hits the imagination of writers it will grow. Depending upon how it is developed it would be interesting to write for.
There are a couple of stories out there already that I know about because I have added to them that are pretty close to non-consent.
Some of the fan fiction stories are pretty non consensual. Especially if Britney Spears or the like is involved. I think Sarah Michelle Gellar gets it pretty rough also.
Hello,
I find that Chyoo is not very accepting of Non-consent. From my experinces I've had a story rejected because it contained "non-consentual violence". Which is different I think... from non-consentual sex. The story I wrote was about a hitman and he was payed to hurt/kill people. So Chyoo said no.
I do think that some people would get carried away with the non-consent rape and such. However every now and then it's fun to write a thread where the character doesn't want it at first but then ends up enjoying it very much. Shifting from no to yes.
Just my opinion. Alright I am off to approve new threads and hopefully write some!
I read one just yesterday that was pretty much a gang-rape. And there was another by the same author/editor. And both had been accepted, obviously. I don't know HOW, since they were very definitely non-consent, but they're there under BDSM.
Actually, I considered reporting them since I don't like someone blowing off the rules, but I guess someone in charge had to have approved them and I doubt they'd be removed after the fact....
Fictional,
These stroies that you read, was in the first introduction thread that the non-consent happened? All the site moderators approve is the very first thread. Once it is approved the following threads can have anything they wish to contain.
I am not sure but the writer may even be able to edit the introduction thread after it's approved and not have to have it approved again. Somebody tell me if I am wrong, but if that is the case, then different things can be changed to make the original thread break the rules. I am not 100% positive on this though.
Rules are important, but with non-consent stories, perhaps it's Chyoo's own fault for not including this. Afterall they have an incest section which in my opinion is far more wrong than non-consent! Even worse is non-consentual incest!!
The non-consent encounter doesn't happen in the opening scene, but it's definately set up! I can't even see how they could make it consensual even if they tried.
Here's the story I'm thinking about .
I feel like....making it first-person non-consensual would probably make a difference as far as I'm concerned. Hell, it might even make someone think about the other person's feelings who might not normally.
2.You may write on almost any subject. We do ask that you not write stories on bestiality, underage sex, or extreme violence during sex. Power plays and non-consent fantasies are one thing, but killing or violently abusing someone during a sexual act should be avoided.
Here's rule 2. from the CHYOO guidelines.
Different people may have different interpretations of this rule.
Yep it's entirely possible to edit the introduction thread after it's been approved. You can also change the name as well so just think how different a story could be changed to.
Well, two stories that were Nonconsensual in nature have been posted (of mine, that is) and under "BDSM"
Does anyone moderate these forums? I saw that people are concerned that no one pays attention to their suggestions...So I hesitate to ask for the Non-consent section officially.
I actually write quite a bit of non-consent. Personnally, I make a distinction between non-consent and rape...
Non-consent is, as stated, non-consensual sex. However, its physical and psychological impacts on the characters involved is little to nil. Nobody will feel suicidal, or be traumatized, or have physical scars (bleeding = :eek biggest turn-down for me), etc. At worst, my characters feel angry having sex while they don't want it. For a good example of that, check out the Jetsons thread in lilguy's "Cartoon lover" story.
Rape, on the other end, HURTS. Both physically and mentally. That I don't like...
Yeah, the difference is thin. For some stories, I guess we could get into an endless debate about weither it is non-consent or rape. *shrugs*
As others said, I guess it is better not to "validate" non-consensual sex, so that way moderators have a total liberty of approving or disapproving a story they consider too "offensive".
Dude, no story, whether you call it rape or non-consent, will have the emotional and physical, basically the truly negative, side effects that rape does in reality. But then, Chyoo, like lit, isn't reality.
Why not have a Non-consent category? Lit. has one, and don't the same people run both?
