Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: slower, slower...
The right or wrong of past acts made by men who are long gone will be debated forever. Who is to say what is right or wrong? Do you really think that the Japanese or the Germans would have had any problem using atomic weapons?I believe they would have done it in a heartbeat and never looked back. I see it as a group of individuals who made decisions based on the fact that the world had been at war for 6 years and it was time to pull the plug as quickly as possible.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You may be correct in that the powers that be wanted to see what the affects of nuclear blast were,Since only one bomb had been detonated at that point in time out in the new mexico desert.---------------------------------------------------------------------------In the 50s the US govt did build "fake" cities within blast zones to study the survivability of nuclear blasts. Some of these stuctures still stand today in the Nevada desert. These sites can be toured by the public if you ask for clearance 2weeks before your visit.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I wasnt switching the subject to Germany to show that there is blood on everyones hands,Just trying to point out that nasty things happen in war and that atrocities can be committed by both sides. I refuse to be apoligetic or pass moral jugement on decisions made by men from a different era.p_p_man said:
Are you deliberately switching the discussion from Japan to Germany to show that there's blood on everyones' hands.
There's no need.
We all understand that.
But it doesn't make something right because someone else committed a similar act beforehand.
Otherwise every murderer in the world will be set free.
