Believe it or not, I recently heard Tucker Carlson complain about the Immigration Act of 1965 --which was done to overturn the national-origins-quota system, which was enacted in the 1920s for the sole express purpose of preserving America's character as a white country (it favored Northwest European immigrants while barring others). Carlson seems to regard the 1965 act as a conspiracy to increase the Dem vote share, which as much as to say that the GOP has nothing to offer voters of color.

What has that to do with immigration? An immigrant has to live here a long time before he can even vote. And most of them aren't "anti-American leftists." Most of them have no particular identifiable politics, and what they want of America in general is to get in on it, not destroy it.
