No Need To Be rude

I can understand that some of the writers who submit their stories are very good writers. Some of us just write for fun and submit our stories for fun and to share. I have submitted four and one of them isn't very well written. I got a feedback from someone who was very rude but didn't have the courage to use their name or email address so I could respond. I don't mind if someone wants to offer me criticism for that is the only way to learn but there really any reason to be rude or at least be brave enough to allow your email address to be known so the person you're attacking can respond.

It happens to all of us at one time or another, darlin. It's never easy to shrug off a piece of negative feedback when the writer just wants to hurt you personally. However, the idiot who wrote to you only wants to hurt you. Are you going to take this guys word? Hell no. The dummy obviously has no taste, otherwise she wouldn't be attacking you at all.

:) Cheer up, for every one negative morons there are thousands who are not only reading what you wrote, but liking it.

i am the authority on hate mail

I used to get more than my share. I tried answering it on the bb. Even thought it was fun to insult them, it got boring very fast. So i turned off the anon feedback. I dont think it hurt the feedback at all. I still get it and now they are much more intelligent than before. Hell most of the feedback is better written than my story was.

If you have a real problem with it just turn it off. Your volume of feedback might go down but then again it might not.

You've got nothing to be ashamed of!

i just came from reading "Office Meeting". i thought it was delicious! Nice and bite-sized and tasty.

Your technique is well-developed. i think you should write more, that's the best way to get really good.

Don't let the no-name, bubble-popping, butterfly stompers of the world get you down.

If a writer critiques you, that's one thing. You can learn from that. If a person who can't even write her NAME gives you a knock, you can learn from that too.

Learn to rise above it and keep doing what you LIKE.:D

More power to ya little kitty:rose:

people are cowards

The one thing I've quickly learned through feedback on Literotica is that most people are cowards.

If someone has something negative to say, they rarely seem to put their ID to it. If someone is going to be rude or offensive, then they definately won't put their name to it.

It's a case of them wanting to be abusive or negative, but they aren't willing to stand behind their comments. That's one of the reasons I admire film and theatre critics so much - they put their name to their comments and stand by what they say - whether I agree with them or not.

Don't take these people to heart. The only negative feedback I take completely seriously are from those who put their name to it (which is rare!). And to those people I simply thank them for offering their valid thoughts. Anyone who is abusive, I simply ignore - because I see them as closed-minded idiots/bigots with poor communcation skills and not much to say.

Your first priority as a writer, in my opinion, is to yourself. If you feel you did the best you can, then don't worry about the negative comments. If you are aware that you did not achieve what you sought to, then no one else's remarks are going to carry as much weight as your own opinion.

what she said

What Caroline said is what every one of us tells ourselves. I dont know a one of us who doesnt get pissed at the anon feedback from jerks. course I could be wrong. somebody might get off on the insults. I sure as hell dont..

I have a perfect solution for the truely negative nasty mentality feedback you might get...

Now before you use the delete key make a fist, but omit to fold in your middle finger. Now hold this hand in that posture up to the screen for perhaps 3 seconds (as more than 3 is really unnecessary). Smile and then use the delete key.

It works fine every time eh.

Dont let the anonymous cowards drag you down... Maybe they get some sort of sick thrill from emailing such rude nasty comments.

I had someone like that yesterday!

Sent me two long e-mails in screaming CAPITALS that it's all very well me writing about SEX but what's the girl going to do when she has a BABY. Didn't the GANG who RAPED HER know about BIRTH CONTROL!

The next was couched in stronger terms and is not permissable to repeat on a family site! :D

Ignore them.

Judging from the comments above your story's fine.

I'm going to read it later...

:)

you actually got this in an email?

"Sent me two long e-mails in screaming CAPITALS that it's all very well me writing about SEX but what's the girl going to do when she has a BABY. Didn't the GANG who RAPED HER know about BIRTH CONTROL! "

That person sounds like they still sleep with a night light, listen to the voices in their head to much, gets dressed by mommy still, and is still sure that their "special purpose" is just for going pee.

Aside from the fact they can't seem to distinguish fact from fiction, who knows maybe that thought you were writing a news story.

As the person posted anonymously...

I used this Forum to reply. This is what I wrote:

"except that idiot who sent me two very long e-mails about the soldiers not practicing safe sex.

It''s a story for chissakes not a right to life leaflet...

Can you really imagine a group of rapists saying to each other...

"Hey lads who's got the condoms? or...

"We'd better check she's on the pill, we don't want any babies running around"

Get real...

ppman"

Probably had no effect, but it gave me some satisfaction...

:D

I tried it

I tried answering them here. It was fun, but it just encouraged the little stalker to keep it up. It gave me a foreum okay, but it also gave him one. It is part of their left handed logic. I turned off all that crap.

Before I came here, I wrote for the pure fun of it. At first I tried to make sense of it all. The votes the number of reads. I had pieces with good reads. I had pieces with good votes.

In the end I went back to just writing for the fun of it. I dont allow votes for the most part. I dont accept any anon email. If that is good or bad I don't know. Nor do I try to decide. I just do it my way. (Damn, I am about to burst into song here)

If a man or woman doesn't have the courage to sign their name, I have no use for their comments. I do think that if the feedback were set to automatically add the email address, with the option to turn it off, most folks wouldnt bother. Just the assholes would, and hell we dont need them anyway..

Posting a two part story without advance notice to the reader is as
much a rape of the readers mind as it would appear your victim is going to
get.
Where the fuck do you think you are, Hollywood?"

:D Ah no, unregistered I live in New Zealand. :) :D

I am learning all the time. :) You can't please all of the people all of the time. Otherwise you would be busy 36/10 if it was possible.

Unreg? In future I will publicly announce from the 56th storey of lit, I will be creating this story in 72 parts. OK with you? (Dumb bum unreg it was a first try/ tentative approach into non consensual. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT read Absolute Terror and Absolute Terror ch 2 - ch 3 is still in the process of being written - I am not giving advance notice)

*sigh* I feel so much better now. :)
