Everybody happy tonight? Looking forward to the holiday? Stressed about the work in the kitchen or dealing with difficult relatives? Just happy to have the day off to spend with loved ones?

Football!

Roaring fires!

Pumpkin pie!

Gravy!

Do you get dressed up or like to spend the day in jammies?

I used to get dressed up but, truth be known, I'd rather spend the day in jammies. I'll compromise tomorrow with something comfortableaboutthehousesubburbanmom.

Little known fact: This is the first major holiday that I've spent without family. It feels very exciting actually. Grown up.

If it were just me, hubby and brother as in past years I'd probably spend the day cooking at a relatively leisurely pace in my jammies while they watch football.

Tomorrow...well. *sigh* I'm not stressed, I'm just really not looking forward to it like I usually do. (have i bitched and moaned about this topic enough yet?)

i'm not looking forward to waking up in the morning and driving the 2 hours to my uncle's house and having to try to find it again....but food and football is sounding pretty good right now, and at least it's not at my parent's house where i would have to help my mom cook

We travel on Thanksgiving.

I can't eat til 5.

So I'm going to be anti-social for half the day and a ravenous pig the rest.

Take pictures.

Fuck it I'm staying in bed till noon and staying in sweats all day being with my immediate family!

My boyfriend is working and I don't have any family in town so I am going to mooch off of my friends.
I have two dinner invites and my friends mom's are doing the cooking. So I am going to go eat and travel to the next house eat some more then come home put on some sweats and veg out :)
I'll probably watch the ten commandments. I love that movie!!

I have made it a ritual the last few years to spend Thanksgiving with friends. I am learning to make my circle of friends into my own family of comfort and solitude.

Two years ago we spent it in Maui. Wearing shorts and bikini tops on Thanksgiving Day felt a little odd.

Last year we went to the mountains. Hot Tubbing in the afternoon surrounded by fresh snow.

This year we're spending it at home in our town...but at Their house this year.

For the first time in years. I'm not all that excited. I've spent the better part of my night arguing with Mr. La Fay about just how to baste a fucking ham. He took a shower...I won. Now he'll never know what I put on it. My girlfriend spent her evening cleaning her house and getting the bird ready.

Tomorrow I'll sleep in a little. Have some coffee. Shower. Dress in my favorite worn levi's, a fitted white shirt, leather jacket and black boots.

I'd rather be in somewhere else, eating cold duck. Wearing only a lazy smile. Next year...I swear that's where I'm going to be.

I'm with Drahh...lets just have sex.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday Ruby ;)

I'm just hanging out with #1tank and the kid cooking a different kind of T-day food (roast and blackeyed peas w/cornbread), playing here a little and chilling.

Eh.

Let's have sex.

I should tend my threads better. :)

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

I think I may have ... um ... overcooked the cranberries, but I don't care. I think I'll pour myself a glass of wine.

Cheers!

Ruby!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! The cranberries won't be mad, and they like wine, too.

Boodle!!!

How are you my little plastic dove?

How's your turkey roasting?

Make sure to put plenty of cream in your mashed potatoes.

Do you like white or dark meat? I'm all over the dark meat myself, although the white is ok topped with cranberry sauce.

:)

I'm keen, thanks!

Someone else is doin' the turkey, I'm doin' mac'n'cheese and pie.

The mashed potatoes are full o' garlic!

I prefer the white meat, but I'm not averse to the dark.

Have a good one. I gotta bake!

Enjoy Boodle! *muah*

Happy Thanksgiving, Buttons. :) Actually, my guests are bringing virtually everything. I've had to wash the china and crystal, set the table and pick up the house. It's the most relaxing Thanksgiving I've ever had.

But I do need to get in the shower now, or I'll be wrapped in a towel when they arrive.

Thankfully,

Ruby

:)
