No link for comments?

Can someone say why some stories don't have a link for comments? I'm not speaking of a "anonymous feedback to the author" but "leave a public comment on this submission"? This is just an example. This is the second page of a single submission story.

When the public comment section doesn't appear, it's because the author has chosen not to allow public comments on that story. It's an option available when submitting the story, or at any time through the control panel.

Considering the linked story is in Loving Wives, it's not surprising that the PC board is turned off.

Ohhh, okay, I get it. Yeah, the comments in that genre are over the top sometimes! Well, I figure that in Loving Wives, the more vitreolic the previous comments the better the author presented the story!

It's funny leaving 5-star votes and 100% thermometers in a long string of negative feedback!

I PM an author often enough, but usually it's because the care taken in writing the story deserves extra credit, or if the story actually touches something in me. Maybe I could take the time to PM these Loving Wives authors with a little something positive. I know it wouldn't hurt.
