In a WSJ editorial this morning, Benjamin Chavis, a national co-chair of the bipartisan No Labels organization, calls out the Democratic Party for its hypocritical effort to keep a No Labels unity ticket (a Dem and Republica) off the presidential ballot.

According to Chavis, “some 40 leading Democratic officials and strategists, including President Biden’s former chief of staff, met in Washington to find ways to keep potential candidates endorsed by No Labels off 2024 presidential ballots in all 50 states.”

“In Arizona, which was one of the first states where No Labels started gathering petition signatures, the state Democratic Party has responded with fury. It filed a lawsuit in state court against No Labels alleging that the signatures we collected and the petition approved by Arizona’s secretary of state should be thrown out.

“In legal filings, lawyers for the Arizona Democrats argue that No Labels’ presence on the ballot could “make it more difficult to elect Democratic Party candidates,” and “require [the party] to expend and divert additional funds and staff time on voter education to accomplish its mission in Arizona.” In other words, the Arizona Democrats seem to think election laws should free them from having to persuade voters that their candidates can do a better job than an independent ticket.”

No labels screwed itself when it decided to jettison moderates.

But yes, the Democratic party tends to fight against things that aren't good for it.

It will lead to voter confusion if a candidate is allowed to list an inaccurate party affiliation beside their name on the ballot.

The US needs a Socialist Party, like it had in Eugene Debs time, and with socialist policies.

This party would openly criticize and denounce US imperialist wars, expose the billionaire class for exploiting the working classes, and expose the Democratic and Republican Parties' roles in protecting the billionaires. It would call for things like nationalized, universal healthcare free at the point of use funded by federal and state taxation, a reduction in the bloated military budget in favor of massive increases for workers' wages, pensions and welfare, for the rights of all workers to be in trade unions and the right to a set amount of days off work during a year.

Most of all, to be armed against right-wing attempts to stop us. End any illusions in pacifism that so many "gun control" liberals have.

Moderates? You mean corporates.
