This morning as I went out to the car to get a couple of things I saw what looked like a camera laying on the ground near my steps. I picked it up, wiped it off and slipped it into my pocket.
This afternoon I sat down to look at the camera. It had been outside in the light rain but didn't look the worse for wear. When I tried to turn it on nothing happened. Hmmmm, maybe a dead battery. I checked the battery with the idea of replacing it and found it to be a propriatary Panasonic Battery. Okay that's a no go but sitting right next to the battery is an SD Card.
I pop this out and slide it into my nifty little card reader. Up on the screen comes 45 pictures and two vids. I start scanning through them looking for something familiar, something that will help me find the owner of the camera. Before long I find what I'm looking for and more.
The first twenty or so pictures are of people in bars. No joy there. Then there are a couple of faces I recognise. My next door neighbors faces grace my monitor. (The rather large ladies behind us not the Hispanic couple in front of us.) I put everything back together and wander over to their place. When the one answered the door I held up the camera while asking if they were missing something. Oh the sounds of happiness were great.
I wonder if they will figure out that I had scanned through their pictures and if so what they will say.
