I have recently written a series of four stories called "The High School Chronicles"; on numerous ocassions, I have requested feedback, but I am yet to recieve any. In the opinion of all of the rest of the authors, are my stories that bad that they dont deserve a little feedback? Or is it just that readers arent giving as much feedback as they used to? I'd like to hear what everyone thinks.-> HSWriter@hotmail.com

Hey Hswriter,
my email/fan mail has been rather slow lately too, so it's probably nothing personal, I'm sure.

I commented on yours in another bb post... Although I didn't love your stories.. in fact, it made me feel down right dirty, it wasn't poorly written. In fact, it was quite good... Just not something I was into. I stopped reading the series because of the story line... lol. I guess you did a better job than you intended with the description of her shame and the principal because I really felt just horrible after reading it! I suppose that's not the desired affect... but that's what I got. Not to say it was bad, again, lemme stress that it was NOT a bad story, in fact I thought the twist of her going to his house and feeling oddly excited was interesting... but as I said, it didn't turn me on

maybe it's a fetish thing? anyway, good job on the story... too good, in fact.

HS, receiving no feedback really means nothing. It doesn't mean you are being ignored. I dare say 99 percent of readers don't give any feedback. They read a story and go on. Personally, I've written a total of fifteen stories that I've posted, and I've received a grand total of one reply to the stories. But I don't feel I'm being ignored. I know some of the stories are being read.

Thanks Miranda for your constructive critisism. I appreciate it.

I really liked the high-school chronicles i would appreciate if you would finish the damn series to, please?

I am trying to work on finishing the series, glacier, but I've gotten somewhat tied up with some other things, including the author awards, but I do plan to finish off the series.

English Bob voiced a valid concern to me in email. Several authors had asked if it were possible to have their index pages linked to each story, so that readers could go straight to a list of their other works without having to back out of the story and find their name on the Indexed By Author page. A month or so ago, I started doing just that. However, English Bob's concern was that many readers might not realize that the author's name on their index page is an email link.

Today at some point, I plan on going through all 400+ author pages and adding a tag next to their name that says something like "click to email". This should prevent any confusion.

As I've said before, we are currently working very hard on the new Literotica, which will enable you to see your voting stats in real time, etc. We are at this moment building a simple beta test model of how the site will be set up so we can work all the kinks out. We are new to Cold Fusion (which is what we're building Literotica 2.0 in), and we're not programmers, but we are learning. The site is currently 4,000+ pages large, and switching all the stories, galleries, author pages, etc. over to the new format is not a small task. I am also working on a new "look" for the site. Once the new Literotica is up (sometime in spring 2000, more than likely), I think you will all be impressed.

As far as how often your story is read, our stats show that within its first 24 hours on the site, the average new story is read around 10,000 times. We're currently pulling about 70,000 hits a day to our story index page. So don't worry - your work is being read and appreciated! Web visits on all non-shopping sites that I've talked to have taken a dip the last few weeks because of the Christmas season (people are out shopping, etc. instead of reading erotica, playing games, etc.), but I expect a big rise after New Years. So, don't be discouraged!

DON'T FEEL BAD OR LEFT OUT, HS.........I have submitted a total of 4 published stories on this website. I have received exactly 2 feedbacks per story. It seems that out of the hundreds of online readers, only a handful may read and comment (good or bad) on a story. I have submitted one of my stories to another website and it tells you how many times the story is read, how many votes received, and the average vote. That way, at least I know that my story has been read over 5,000 times to date.
